Join the Utility Scale Renewable Development business in the US to manage the sourcing and supply strategy within the development business and partnering with the sourcing organization to execute that strategy while also contributing to the development and implementation of the USRD businesses commercial strategy.

 

This position is open to the Houston, Chicago, Santa Barbara, San Francisco and Denver areas. 

 
What you’ll do:

  • Partner with the ENGIE procurement team to develop and manage key relationships with strategic suppliers of equipment, software and services.

  • Support the project development and execution process by driving the selection of appropriate technology that meets and optimizes project performance.

  • Work with strategic vendors to provide quantitative input and feedback that leads them to develop high value products in line with ENGIE development strategy while balancing competitive intelligence considerations.

  • Understand the marketplace and competitive field to keep business informed of changes in the marketplace that may impact critical decisions and decision timelines.

  • Prepare investment presentation materials for ENGIE investment committees as necessary.

  • Secondary responsibility to support the Commercial Strategy team on development and update of the Utility Scales Renewable Development commercial and business strategy.

  • Remain abreast of renewable energy opportunities in the United States and the national industry trends impacting the future of renewable development opportunities and their competitiveness as they relate to customers.

  • Represent ENGIE at national renewable energy events as speaker, panelist and wind energy leader.

  • Participate in energy working groups, professional organizations, trade shows & conferences

What you bring:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ progressive experience in a business development related role.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in renewables preferably in an origination, development, asset management or commercial strategy role
  • A Bachelor's Degree with strong academic record from a leading undergraduate program, ideally in finance, accounting, business administration, economics or engineering
  • MBA preferred
  • Prior experience in equipment procurement, sales and or design as well as project design
  • Strong attention to detail and inclination towards structure, organization, and process – as well as the ability to examine, question, and improve on the inputs and recommendations of others.
  • Highly motivated self-starter, friendly personality, and good team player.
  • Proven organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple concurrent efforts, track progress and needs of each, and provide high quality deliverables accurately and on time
  • Able to work well with geographically dispersed, cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to travel up to 30-50% of the time to make onsite visits with clients, partners, counterparties and to attend tradeshows all while creating and executing on business opportunities.
