The Job: Solutions Consultant 

 

 

Purpose
ENGIE is organizing its energy and services businesses to deliver an additional integrated solutions platform in North America (NA). The Solutions Consultant
will be responsible for working with and assisting the Senior Solutions Consultants in delivering leading edge integrated solutions, offering energy as a service, including consultation, solution design, implementation, O&M, optimization and financing. The incumbent will be expected to introduce solutions for key customers that include the full range of services offered by the BU, from energy supply and energy management services, to distributed energy, energy analytics and energy optimization. The Solutions Consultant will interface and work very closely with the Senior Solutions Consultants and the Solutions Sales Team to leverage the market presence and support on investment grade audits and commercial solutions development. Additionally, the incumbent will build strategic partnerships and at the supply chain to bring an understanding of the market trends, customer business strategies, aspirations and operational needs back into the business, working closely with marketing and development teams.  The incumbent will be responsible for building a robust and vibrant lead generation pipeline and work closely with the Senior Sales Consultants to shape market-leading, value-added solutions to our clients.

Essential Job Functions

  • Overall responsibility for identifying and securing integrated energy solutions for commercial, industrial and institutional customers throughout the Eastern / Central / West Coast US, working directly with Senior Solutions Consultants in managing the pipeline of prospects. 
  • Work with the Senior Solutions Consultant and Marketing team to identify potential customers, principally focused on selling joint offers with existing and organic individual energy solutions in energy services, renewable and related products.
  • Establish high level relationships with key accounts, identifying major commercial, industrial and institutional opportunities
  • Closely coordinate sales lead efforts with Senior Solutions Consultants.
  • Follow industry trends and competitor activities, including regulatory/financial incentives, power and gas pricing and structured financing transactions
  • Act as an ambassador for the ENGIE business at all times
  • Ensure compliance around all ENGIE NA policies, including an emphasis on safety and environmental policies
  • Carries out other duties as assigned 

 

 

Requirements

  • An understanding of debt financing and capital markets, including funding for decentralized energy, ESCO’s, O&M and concession-based infrastructure projects
  • Experience in the use of ‘big data’ platforms to blend data, technology with people and insight
  • Previous experience working in a commercial negotiation environment with excellent lead generations, commercial management, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Skills and knowledge within a combination of integrated solutions, energy services and renewable energy technologies including building automation, lighting, HVAC, biomass, geothermal, solar, wind and energy storage
  • Commercial mind-set, strong prioritization, communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to quickly work into new tasks and accommodate with new circumstances in a dynamic environment

Essential Physical Abilities

  • Ability to travel often and frequently via airplane, car, etc. as required.
  • Ability to meet highest attendance requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to use personal computer, mobile device, calculator, etc.
  • Could involve some lifting.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance Engineering, or equivalent from an accredited institution required
  • Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) a plus
  • 7-10 years of experience in sales, in the field of Energy Services and Renewables
  • Successful experience in sales, development and management of major projects
  • Demonstrated track record selling to and interfacing with multiple levels within an organization.
  • Demonstrated track record closing energy services and renewable energy deals.
  • Experience in managing sales process
