Tremendous growth in the wind industry has spurred project development and, as a result, our company has experienced dramatic growth and is looking for the perfect candidate to add to our Land Acquisition Staff. The candidate for this position must have strong background in negotiation business transactions, organizational and managerial skills, knowledge of real estate title and the ability to travel up to 2-3 weeks per month.


This position is open to the Santa Barbara, CA, Denver, CO or Southwest Minnesota (Marshall MN office) areas.

What you’ll do:
  • Working with Company’s management to develop land acquisition strategies for green field projects, existing projects and project acquisitions.
  • The ability to in obtaining source documentation from public records generally located in county courthouses or abstract offices. 
  • Delivering presentations to individual landowners, small groups of landowners and at times, large groups of landowners.
  • Negotiating and acquiring easements for wind energy development and related agreements from project landowners as assigned by management. 
  • Monitoring the organization of documents, records and files for all assigned projects.
  • Providing oversight and assisting with difficult negotiations.
  • Being familiar with applicable federal, state or local regulations as they relate to the development of the wind project.
  • The ability to manage deadlines, multiple project objectives, project time lines and success criteria relating to the projects assigned to you.

What you bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Master or MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of wind energy related land acquisition experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of real estate matters including title curative tasks for all assigned projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook 
  • Strong communication and managerial skills
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously and efficiently with an eye to detail
  • Team-oriented individual willing to shift focus quickly and efficiently between varying priorities
