Purpose of the JOB:

The Senior Business Controller will have the following mission, all of them with the final objective to add value on a complex operating environment:

       Senior Business Controller of Customer Solutions / Service Business Line

a. Serve as a Financial Advisor to OPCO’s.

The Senior Business Controller serves as an advisor for OPCO’s financial department and other transversal areas. He uses his research, analysis and experience to develop financial recommendations, provide budget and actuals feedback, and assist in key financial decisions. Consequently, the Senior Business Controller plays an important role in the company’s financial results.


Among his responsibilities are:

o  Advise on Financial impacts and KPI optimization.

o  Advise on budget creation. Oversee the execution of OPCO’s budget with its risks & opportunities, as well as eventual risk mitigation plans.

o  Advise on actuals evolution.

§ Optimize financial impacts by providing best alternatives on accounting treatments, driving OPCO’s financial results towards management objectives.

§ Understand and challenge deviations (vs budget / prior year / expectations) and ensure management messages are aligned with financial results.

o  Stablish a strong and positive relationship with OPCO’s management team.

§ Manage and coordinate interfaces between OPCO and LATAM / ENGIE HQ.

§ Ensure fluent and transparent communication with OPCO members.

§ Provide continuous feedback to improve process.

§ Contribute to team effort.


b.    Perform Financial Challenge and Analysis.

The Senior Business Controller completes regular financial analysis of KPIs / KFIs over both actuals and budget, identifying the root causes of variations and generating a consistent message of explanations across the BU / entity.

Among his responsibilities are:

o Understand and challenge yearly budget and medium-term plan projections.

o Identify Risks and Opportunities to budget and best estimate projections.

o Challenge and analyze deviations vs budget and prior year.

o Follow up on ENGIE cost reduction performance plans.

o Support LATAM FP&A team with regional financial synthesis & variance analysis.

o Be the SPOC of LATAM FP&A team within the Services OPCOs.

o Be accountable for reconciliation process between local and conso figures.


c.     Financial Reporting:

The Senior Business Controller is accountable for ensuring Services OPCOs timely and materially correct reporting, following ENGIE and LATAM guidelines and deadlines. Additionally, after completing the Financial Analysis, the Senior Business Controller is responsible for reporting findings and working with financial and executive staff on action plans designed to address issues identified.


d.    Follow up business & market evolution.

The Senior Business Controller understands the market trends, the overall business situation, and the company strategy. He is aware of the industry regulation and potential emerging topics, and ensures the link between OPCO’s strategy, ENGIE objectives and local business / industry evolution.

Transversal follow up of BU consolidated CAPEX and development costs.

The Senior Business Controller will be responsible of transversal LATAM consolidated KFIs, such as CAPEX and Development costs, ensuring accureate, timely and value-added reports with different stakeholders.

Required qualifications:

-          Finance / Accounting related degree

-          At least 7 years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis or similar, ideally in services sector.

-          Fluent English.

-          Technical skills

o   Good knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS) 

o   Strong analytical reasoning.

o   Ability to understand what drives value in our activity, and measure the performance of our activities

o   Ability to work independently with a high level of initiative, anticipation and sense of urgency.

o   Able to manage various and shifting priorities,and to adapt quickly in an environment with tight deadlines and high-quality standards.

o   Capability to summarize (synthetic mindset)
