What you bring:

  • High School Degree or GED equivalent required
  • Current enrollment at the University of Iowa as a Full or part time student at the University of Iowa is required

Students in Engineering, Business, Industrial Hygiene, and Environmental Sciences preferred

  • Required to have a valid driver's license
  • Ability to work in construction environments and in extreme temperatures.
  • Completion of training requirements, including safe work practices
  • Required to have a home/personal telephone
  • Accountable to immediate supervisor for ensuring adherence to the applicable safety and environmental programs, taking all reasonable precautions to prevent incidents of noncompliance
  • For this position, you must have evidence of right to work in the U.S. There is no employer sponsorship of U.S. residency or work authorization with this role

 

Additional Information/Conditions:

  • Ability to meet highest attendance requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally
  • Ability to use personal computer, calculator, and work with standard software applications
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy
  • Capable of frequently standing; walking; balancing; sitting; climbing (ladders, stairs, ramps, catwalks, and the like as required); kneeling; pushing; pulling; lifting (min. 50 lbs)
  • Capable of performing repetitive motions as required
  • Required to have eyesight corrected at 20/40 to accurately read and interpret such as but not limited to instruments, gauges, and manuals
  • Must be physically capable of entering and working in a confined spaces (crawl spaces, shafts, small, enclosed areas, and the like) as required
  • Must be physically capable of wearing protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hardhat, safety shoes, safety glasses, etc.
