ENGIE are recruiting for an Internal Communications Executive to be based in Canary Wharf, 25 Canada Square, London E14 5LQ. This is a permanent, full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.



General Overview 


The Internal Communications Executive is responsible for supporting the development and delivery of internal communication activities for the UK Business Unit, including the internal transformation programme (activate21), the UK IT programme and related projects in support of the UK strategy.


The Executive is also responsible for supporting the delivery of other internal communication activities and initiatives across the UK Business Unit to strengthen employee engagement and increase understanding of business activities.



Key Accountabilities: 

  • Develop, implement and continually update the communications plans for various departments within the UK Business Unit, including the internal transformation programme (activate21), innovation, HR

  • Support key strategic projects which are linked to the UK transformation programme, such as IT and procurement projects 

  • Develop and draft internal communications materials, such as business updates, email communications, newsletters and briefing packs

  • Develop and manage internal communications tools (including SharePoint sites, webcast platforms, Yammer, internal videos)

  • Participate in a UK-wide Internal Communications Network to ensure effective collaboration and consistency of message across divisions and functions

  • Draft and manage the content and development of the UK Business Unit intranet

  • Support corporate internal events, (e.g. the twice-yearly Senior Management Conference, quarterly CEO webcasts and engagement events with the UK Executive Team)

  • Support corporate internal initiatives (e.g. Innovation Week, corporate responsibility and employee engagement activities, and ENGIE Group initiatives)

  • Report on the effectiveness of internal communications activity

  • Respond to ad hoc internal requests for communications support

Knowledge and skills: 

  • In-depth knowledge of the key elements associated with effective internal communications
  • Excellent written skills and experience in explaining complex information quickly and concisely
  • Ability to work independently and within a team, and with a range of different stakeholders
  • Creative skills with the ability to propose and implement initiatives, and logistical / planning skills to ensure projects are delivered on time and to required budget
  • A high-level of IT knowledge/interest (particularly Office 365)


Experience & Qualifications: 

  • Minimum two years of experience in a communications related role, preferably including experience within change communications 
  • Experience in management of internal communications tools, including digital tools such as SharePoint and other Office 365 functionality
  • Services and energy market knowledge would be beneficial 


Behavioural Capabilities: 

  • Strong communicator and team player who is flexible and willing to support other related duties as required 
  • Sufficiently confident to interface effectively with all levels of company personnel
  • Ability to work under pressure, to prioritise work, and to adhere to tight deadlines while maintaining quality
  • Self-motivated, collaborative and persuasive 
  • An ability to develop internal networks
  • High level of attention to detail
