•    Chartered Accountant or Chartered Tax Advisor

Knowledge and Skills: 

The job holder will have:

•    Successful track record of working in a complex, global business and delivery of business focussed tax solutions in an international tax environment, preferably including in the Middle East context;
•    Strong technical knowledge of tax regimes in the Engie MEA&I perimeter and transfer pricing legislation;
•    Good technical understanding of VAT and indirect taxes in the Energy sector;
•    Strong track record of line management and strong experience building teams;
•    Application of good professional judgement in identifying appropriate tax planning ideas consistent with commercial objectives of the business and tax strategy;
•    Successful track record implementing tax arrangements across complex business structures;
•    Strong project management ability across multi-functional teams to implement tax planning projects to a scheduled timetable;
•    Commercially aware and capable of explaining complex tax and financial issues to senior management and advocate for preferred outcome;
•    Experience of accounting, treasury and company law issues affecting business activities and transactions (in depth knowledge not required);
•    Managing relationships with professional advisers and controlling external spend to ensure advice is obtained in a cost effective manner.


The job holder will have:

•    Minimum 18 year post qualification experience working in taxation in an international environement, ideally including in the Middle East;
•    Previous experience in-house or at an experienced level within a big four accountancy firm;
•    Good working knowledge across the tax aspects of BD and M&A transactions;
•    Project management and implementation of complex tax structuring advice in conjunction with professional tax and legal advisers, and working in association with colleagues from tax, finance, accounting, treasury, corporate finance, legal and company secretarial teams in regional and head office locations.


•    Time to time travel to Business locations in the GCC (KSA, UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman), Pakistan, India and Africa perimeter.


•    Chartered Accountant or Chartered Tax Advisor
