Global Energy Management (GEM) is one of ENGIE’s Business Units. We deliver services in supply and logistics management, asset management, risk management, market access management, while contributing to the market understanding, design and efficiency and developing market solutions to accelerate the energy transition.

The Global Energy Management (GEM) Business Unit, is the fully integrated trading arm of the ENGIE Group.

GEM teams manage a large and highly diversified energy portfolio, including electricity, natural gas, biomass, LNG and other fuels, CO2 and environmental products and provide a range of trading risk management solutions to all types of market participants, in Europe, Asia and in the US..


Main Activities:

The Gas & Power desk is part of the APAC&LNG platform and has 5 traders. The desk is active in the following domains :

  • proprietary trading on the Asian and some selected Eueopean Gas&Power markets
  • Gas customer flow hedging actvities
  • market access for the LNG desk on JKM


You will be responsible to develop and manage the gas books JKM, NBP/TTF, HH (LPG or LNG are not part of the perimeter). On this perimeter you will have to :

  • Hedge the commercial flows and trade around these flows
  • Update the curves for the local gas references
  • Ensure performance of your books in accordance to global GEM setup (P&L, services to Client,…)
  • Drive the development of the business in your area of responsibility
  • Strictly respect internal trading rules (limits, compliance, legal, etc.)
  • Propose improvement of models, processes and tools and follow up the implementation
  • Develop constructive relationship within the desk and with other teams


You will also be backup of your teammates on the power perimeter


Internal Interfaces:

  • All GEM APAC (Front Office, Risk and Support Functions)
  • All staff working in International Division
  • Other FO in some other GEM entities (CTO, GASAM notably)


External Interfaces:

  • Brokers, external traders and originators


Work location:


Education and professional background:

Degree / Experience 

  • University degree, Master in Engineering and/or Economics
  • 7 years of experience within the gas derivatives trading field
