ENGIE are recruiting for a General/Fabric Technician to be based at home at SIM Manchester, M3 4PT. This is a permanent, full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a salary banding of £18,000 - £24,000 dependent upon skills and experience, and high-quality benefits package.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provision of Fabric Maintenance

  • Grounds keeping and Technical Services on site

  • Providing hands-on all-round support to the Site Supervisor and where directed by the Supervisor

  • To work with the Site Supervisor to deliver high working standards and maintenance practice in the delivery of M & E services  in accordance with the terms of the SMG contract

  • To work independently and manage own time, appropriately escalating to and seeking advice from Site Supervisor and others when necessary

  • Work with the Site Supervisor  to identify and, where agreed, deliver innovation ideas to reduce costs and/or improve quality of service

Other duties include but are not limited to:

  • Water hygiene checks – L8 checks

  • Emergency lighting checks

  • Plumbing

  • Basic electrics depending upon qualifications (competency)

  • Painting and decorating

  • Building installation and repair e.g. carpet-fitting, repair to walls, gutter clearance, drainage)

  • Clearing and tidying up of common areas, plant rooms, store rooms etc

  • Installation of appliances and machines

  • Liaison with contractors and supplier (control of permits)

  • Take meter readings

  • Landscaping duties, including gritting and snow clearance

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Electrical and mechanical competency, with focus on electrical
  • Plumbing
  • Carpentry
  • Water Hygiene
  • Knowledge of M&E standards 
  • Site technical systems
  • Facilities management services
  • IT business support systems including SAP and Planon CAFM system
