Immediate opening for an Advisor, Optimization Engineer in Golden, Colorado / Colorado Energy Nations Company Operations.


In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing optimization projects to reduce natural gas usage related to the energy facilities at the Molson Coors Golden, Colorado brewery operated by Colorado Energy Nations Company. Focusing primarily on steam production and distribution, electricity production and distribution, and condensate collection and return, as they relate to the malting and brewing processes, the Optimization Engineer will conceptualize, propose, develop, and execute projects that reduce natural gas consumption and produce savings.

What you’ll do:
  • Working with plant and brewery staff as appropriate, develop and continually maintain a list of potential projects to reduce gas usage in each of the three main systems: steam, electricity, and condensate.  Projects may include but are not limited to equipment upgrades, improving distribution systems, and optimization of processes
  • For each project on the developed list, provide a conceptual design of the project, a Rough Order of Magnitude cost estimate, a projection of performance (efficiency), and the expected natural gas consumption reduction
  • Present each project to the Plant Manager and the Owner for approval.
  • Oversee and manage the execution of approved projects
  • Maintain strong relationships with brewery personnel, most notably with the Brewery Optimization Engineer to leverage ideas and benefits to improve the sustainability of brewery operations

What you bring:
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Energy Generation and Distribution Systems with a proven expertise in at least one of: steam, electricity, or condensate
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field, i.e. Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, etc
  • Expertise in one or more of the target energy systems, steam, electricity, and condensate; Knowledge of sustainability principles and natural gas/methane systems and production
  • Familiarity with thermal generation processes and energy distribution systems
  • Extremely organized and possess a strong ability to multi-task, coordinate, and prioritize work
  • Strong attention to detail, a proactive attitude and the ability to work with, analyze, and graphically display large data sets.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Project is required
  • Ability to exhibit flexibility which may require late night and/or weekend attention
