ENGIE Solar - Project Procurement Manager

ENGIE Solar delivers a pipeline of utility scale solar projects for more than 1.2 GW per year, in South and North America, Europe, Africa and India.
With a staff of 200, ENGIE Solar has become a platform for geographical business units, with centralized engineering and procurement functions, central project management and onsite construction teams. It capitalizes on massification, globalization and on deep expertise to bring competitiveness in utility-scale solar, in particular through project management, contract management, legal, performance, QSE, industrial IT, engineering, procurement, technology etc.

ENGIE Solar Procurement Department ensures the procurement of all projects worldwide and supplies major components (modules, inverters, structures and trackers, scada, etc.) and services (engineering, inspection, logistics, construction). The Procurement Department is organized in 4 teams :

  • 2 teams of highly specialized buyers and procurement managers (respectively for modules and equipment) in charge of maximizing the value from the suppliers markets to the benefit of ENGIE Solar projects.
  • 1 team in charge of steering project procurement for modules and equipment in close collaboration with the project managers. 
  • 1 team in charge of services procurement (engineering, construction, logistics, etc.)

The Project Procurement Manager is in charge of guaranteeing the efficient fulfilment of equipment and modules procurement for a portfolio of projects.
He / She is in charge of bringing into the projects all the value from the procurement organization, while ensuring availability of equipment and modules in line with the project needs, supporting the project manager in all aspects of such procurement activities, including contract and claim management and guaranteeing the procurement processes are properly implemented. To achieve this objective, he/she is ensuring the coordination with the equipment and modules procurement teams and actors involved in the project.

He / She is committed to achieve and improve the project performance whilst steering any action needed to reduce risk. He / She ensures all procurement activities and related workload are in line with the project global planning.

He / she might support the procurement director in any transversal activities to manage and to improve the procurement processes or tools.
The Project Procurement Manager shall be an effective communicator and team player with the ability and initiative to complement the procurement teams in their missions.




  • During development : as the procurement single point of contact to the project manager, gather the needs of the project, liaise with the procurement teams and support the costing of equipment and modules,
  • As soon as the project is won, in close coordination with the project manager and with the procurement managers, plan procurement activities for the project :
    •  Issue the Project Procurement Strategy that shall define the various contracts to plan and corresponding procurement stratégies,
    • Implement a Project Procurement Plan that shall be part of and consistent with the Project Management Plan and guarantee compliance to the ENGIE Solar processes, rules and policies.

• During execution of the project :

    • Gather and synthetize the project specifications and schedule, coordinate procurement teams during sourcing and procurement,
    • Together with the project manager and the relevant buyer / procurement manager, document selection of suppliers and process the decision at the relevant level,
    • Ensure timely contractual completeness in collaboration with the procurement and legal teams. Track and monitor issuance and validity of bonds and other securities.
    • Follow-up and administrate the contracts during execution, under the responsibility of the project manager (in particular process change orders and track discrepancies to contract performance) and support claim management,
    • Share procurement progress and information to the project team ; Consolidate the procurement inputs into project portfolio data and schedule,
    • At project completion, finalize and document suppliers and contractors performance evaluation, in coordination with the project team and the procurement organization.

• Contribute to the continuous improvement initiatives in quality, processes and documentation.

• At project portfolio level :

    • Maintain & provide a global view of project portfolio to the procurement organization. Organize and manage KPIs & reporting,
    • Propose priorities for the procurement activities when necessary.

• Support the management and contribute to transversal procurement activities:

    • Participating in management of the procurement governance, process or Tools
    • Contributing to projects to improve the procurement overall performance

PMP certification is a plus

You have an academic education and good knowledge in industrial project procurement and project management, feeling comfortable with technical topics.
As a proactive, self-motivated and assertive leader, who exemplifies customer and performance-oriented actions, you motivate and integrate people, thus ensuring healthy dynamics.
You are capable of very good communication and presentation skills on a professional level in English and French. Worldwide travel activity comes to 10% of the working time.

Your academic profile and experience in short:

  • BS degree in procurement, contract management, project management
  • Experience in project management or procurement or supply chain management
  • Experience in remote and multicultural team organizations

  • Fluent English and French (spoken & written), Spanish a plus
