(Electrically Biased) Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Technician – Natural Gas Storage (COMAH) 


A rare opportunity to work for a wonderful organisation in the heart of Cheshire, within a small high-performing Engineering and Maintenance team.  The Stublach Site is the largest natural gas storage asset in the UK with the company having big  expansion ambitions in new business areas; biogas, hydrogen, geothermal and solar.


Storengy UK are seeking an electrically biased EC&I Technician with a strong operational background within the major accident hazard business; oil, gas, chemicals etc.


Do you have a solid background in electrical installation and maintenance within hazardous areas? Are you prepared to learn new skills within instrumentation and control?, Do you have a can-do attitude? Do you have COMAH site experience? Are you self-motivated? Do you have a reliability mindset? Can you work within an on-call rota?

Role and responsibilities;

 

  • Carry out assigned tasks and duties in a safe manner, in accordance with instructions and to comply with safety rules, procedures, regulations and codes of practice.
  • Investigate operational issues / system defects to determine the source of the failure and the most appropriate corrective action in order to safely return an item back to operational service.
  • Liaise with and oversee maintenance contractors on site to monitor their activities, ensuring safety, compliance and quality of work is maintained at all times.
  • Perform routine testing of operational equipment across the site, ensuring traceability by recording the test results in the Computer based Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Carry out inspection of instrumentation & electrical equipment, providing reports and recommendations.
  • Ideally a minimum 5 years’ experience in maintenance of processing plants/ equipment, preferably within the oil/gas/chemical/COMAH industry which will include the installation and maintenance of electrical systems.
  • Electrical technical knowledge is mandatory. Working as an Appointed Person previously is preferred.
  • Ability to work as part of an on-call rota.
  • Recognised Time-Served Apprenticeship (Control & Instrumentation or Electrical) - essential
