 Job Description 

The Director of Renewable Services, Market and Client Strategy will gain strategic advantage for ENGIE Impact Sustainability Services to foster new customer relationships, expand existing relationships and drive revenue development through the application of high-value and actionable market intelligence.  This individual will work closely with the Sales, Solutions and Procurement teams to prioritize market engagement and support ENGIE Impact’s renewable sales strategies in prospects engagements and internal/external stakeholders. 


Sustainability Services will lead clients through the zero-carbon transition occurring throughout the world’s economies today.  The markets for renewable services are dynamic, rapidly evolving, and ENGIE Impact’s success will hinge on its ability to anticipate and profit from changes.  The Director of Renewable Services for Market & Client Strategy will play a vital role in shaping the internal strategy and external identity of Sustainability Services organization within ENGIE Impact and will be a key driver of its growth.   


  • Tracks, evaluates and communicates changes in Federal, State, RTO/ISO policy and rules, market fundamentals, and the competitive landscape.  Translates information into new business development opportunities and successful customer/emerging market approaches in coordination with ENGIE Impact sales and Renewable Services teams.   Primary initial focus is the United States but will participate in the development of collection of similar insights for global clients on an as needed basis.
  • Develop and maintain ideal client targets, existing or new, relative to client size, business operations, geographic favorability in relation to regulatory/incentive conditions, stated sustainability or renewable goals, vertical fit for renewable solutions, financial capabilities and credit, other criteria identified through market intelligence due diligence.
  • Works with internal stakeholders to define and de-risk innovative business offerings and products based on market intelligence and target client profiles.
  • Represents Sustainability Services with customers, industry partners and internal stakeholders to provide strategic context for ENGIE Impact’s strengths and differentiated business approach.
  • Works with the Sales, Solutions and Development teams to improve proposal narratives to demonstrate a high level understanding of the customers’ objectives and the strategic context of the proposed project or renewable procurement plan development.
  • Collaborates with industry stakeholders to grow the total addressable market for renewable services
  • Raises ENGIE Impact’s visibility through thought leadership, including written communication for external audiences and in-person appearances at conferences, etc. 
  • Serves as a member internal team developing ENGIE Impact’s Renewable Services Strategy and participates in strategic and tactical decision making about business operations and resource allocation.
  • Collaborates with policy, regulatory, government affairs, and corporate strategy counterparts to foster transparency and leverage engagement at all levels.

  • 10+ years of experience and eep knowledge of energy markets, renewable energy policy, sustainability frameworks, commercial structures and technology considerations
  • 2+ years experience working in regulated commodities or industry with exposure to large-scale deals
  • 5+ years experience in business analysis
  • Expert-level insight into complex energy market dynamics
  • Comprehensive research and analytical skills; ability to gather information quickly and to synthesize it into actionable information
  • Successful business development and business process management
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Policy, Business, Economics or related field
  • Advanced degree in a related field is strongly preferred
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Proven leadership, collaboration and management skills
  • Strategic thinking and problem solving
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize
