The Commercial & Industrial (C&I) Origination team has an immediate opening for a Market Strategy Director in Chicago, IL or Houston, TX.  This team is a fast-paced group that is responsible for securing commercial offtake for all of ENGIE North America’s renewable products, from a variety of customer classes. As an integral part of this team, you will be responsible for supporting the commercialization of solar, wind and storage projects, through leading and managing the team who develops the financial models, collects and quantifies competitive intel, produces market analytics and helps develop new strategic product offerings.

 
What you’ll do:
  • Develop pricing strategies to meet customers’ needs while providing a profit for the organization. Designs, implements and maintains pricing infrastructures. Evaluates effectiveness of pricing strategies and modifies pricing structures as needed. Provides reporting and documentation of pricing structures and serves as the point of contact for pricing inquiries from internal sales department, but not customers.
  • Management of team which supports financial modeling and pricing for utility and distributed scale wind, solar, and storage for internal and external customers.
  • Quantitative analysis and contracting support related to risk management, innovative structures in conjunction with the structuring team.
  • Market and competitive intelligence analytics, data management, and Salesforce Configuration.
  • Seamless integration with the Renewables team to support project pipeline, model inputs, and project optimization.
  • Support internal approvals process for new economic commitments and associated financing arrangements.
  • Identify main project economic and financial risks and advise on the appropriate mitigation factors and definition of appropriate contingencies.

What you bring:
  • Minimum 10 years of relatable experience
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience at an independent power producer, utility, investment bank, private equity fund or strategic energy company with progressive roles
  • Bachelor’s degree required  
  • Energy market experience in one of the following sectors is preferred; utility scale renewables, distributed generation (i.e. rooftop solar, etc), energy services, retail electricity, natural gas transportation or distribution
  • Outstanding analytical skills and demonstrated expertise in developing and utilizing detailed, Excel-based, financial models
  • Commercial acumen with good understanding of accounting topics and tax structures
  • Proven flexible team player who works well with others
  • Behavioral capabilities: self-motivated, problem solving, strong personality and leadership, common sense, attention to detail, ability to learn and sense of humor
