Reports to Senior Director – Facilities and Safety

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and oversee the successful implementation of ENGIE Impact’s facilities strategy and adoption of ENGIE’s Global Workplace Guidelines including sustainability workplace practices.
  • Advocate for the implementation of ENGIE Global Workplace Guidelines to the extent appropriate for ENGIE Impact work functions, including leveraging our workspaces to increase employee engagement, transform the ways of working and managing, accelerate digitalization, support continuous innovation and align with our sustainability purpose.
  • Develop and lead cross-organizational collaboration of key stakeholders using strong change management practices.
  • Develop and oversee all office facilities under ENGIE Impact’s direct control including the acquisition, design, build-out, maintenance, and decommissioning of workspaces. Facilities under direct control are generally those located in the US but may expand to include non-US facilities if needed to support the business. 
  • Handle and track all aspects/details of key leases, develop project schedules and budgets, lead design and construction of real estate assets and fit out projects within overall portfolio.
  • Oversee ENGIE Impact’s direct office facilities’ maintenance and operations, including national service provider contracts where available. 
  • Liaise with ENGIE facilities outside of the US in order to secure space of ENGIE Impact employees in other locations.  Co-location with other ENGIE entities is preferred whenever possible.
  • Create and forecast facility maintenance, relocation, and / or remodelling budgets, monitor spending, and optimize costs when appropriate. 
  • Serve as the senior business lead on large facility projects.  Use independent judgment to make key decisions. Communicate with and advise the executive team as appropriate.
  • Embed and reinforce “safety first” culture attributes in all aspects of facility management. Partner closely with the Health and Safety program.
  • Participate and support workplace accident investigations and ensure corrective facility actions are taken to prevent further injuries where relevant.
  • Responsible for team, including staff development and planning. Execute staff succession and growth plans.

  • A wide variety of service providers relative to facility upkeep and maintenance
  • Local “first responders” and other safety professionals to ensure compliance with local standards

Required qualifications

EXPERIENCE/DIPLOMA
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and experience
  • Facility Management Professional (FMP) Certification preferred
  • 10 years professional experience and 5+ years of Facility Management experience
  • International business operations experience preferred
SKILLS/SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE
  • Skillful real estate negotiator who understands the market, balances lease terms with maintaining sustainable, inclusive, and collaborative work-spaces
  • Proficient in facilities management, safety, business continuity process requirements
  • Proven track record of strategic planning, change management, project management techniques including multiple simultaneous projects
 
  • Experience working with C-suite and Senior Leadership to communicate, influence and drive program/initiative support
  • Ability to build strong relationships and gain trust and consensus, particularly at senior leadership levels; must be adept at influencing and building credibility in cross-functional, global environments
  • Excellent experience leading, motivating, and influencing teams to accomplish goals and leading through work-space changes while fostering a strong collaborative work environment
  • Ability to “think outside the box” and provide creative and agile solutions that unify best practices and business needs in a scalable, sustainable approach
  • Ability to nimbly transition between strategic and tactical planning, with a strong capability in shifting focus and approach per the ever-evolving needs of the business
SPECIFIC BUSINESS UNDERSTANDING

10+ years of professional experience and 5+ years of corporate real estate experience with exceptional judgment and strong interpersonal skills to be confident, comfortable, and effective in dealing with employees, senior management, and executive team driving consensus and results.
