Job Title: Director, Business Development

Job Location: Toronto, GTA  

Position Status: Permanent, Full time

Summary:

Reporting to the Business Development Vice-President; the Director will execute direct sales strategies to meet and/or exceed set acquisition targets for the business.  The incumbent is expected to sell and deliver ENGIE services in a timely and professional manner while resolving client’s issues, maximizing/building market penetration in target segments and optimizing revenues and profits while ensuring an optimal level of customer relations.  In addition, this position will be responsible for maintaining existing business and increase penetration of these accounts while establishing new accounts within the Facility management/Maintenance sphere in the GTA region. 


 
Responsabilities:
  • Sales including initiating contracts, generating and following up on leads, conducting sales demos/presentations, building/maintaining relationships, identifying the needs of prospective customers and closing the sale within agreed timeframes and quality standards.
  • Actively support and participate to the bidding process
  • Maintain regular lines of communication with clients as needed.
  • Accountable for developing and maximizing revenue from the target markets/verticals by continuously prospecting, relationship-building (approaching prospective customers/setting meetings) and by exceeding sales  targets by closing new business in a timely manner.
  • Leading and negotiating pricing, contract terms and conditions within existing business parameters. 
  • Work collaboratively with all internal stakeholders to ensure success in bidding, onboarding and prospecting new businesses
  • Utilizing consultative sales approach, proactively consulting with clients, ensuring achievement of individual financial goals and targets driven from organization goals and targets.
  • Providing input to the business on key products and services required to close gaps in current product offering and/or in current client segments.
  • Accountable to forge relationships and work closely with different internal collaborators to drive execution for optimal customer acquisition, speed-to-market, onboarding and service levels. 
  • Accountable for timely and accurate completion of sales paperwork to ensure a seamless experience.
  • Accountable to shepherd client relationships from the early stages of the sales process through to post-sales set up and integration.
  • Accountable for being well informed about current industry trends and being able to talk intelligently about the industry. 
  • Keeping abreast of competition, competitive issues and products/services.
  • Accountable for continuous learning including acquiring better selling skills and the identification of potential training opportunities to improve sales and post-sales effectiveness.
  • Comply with corporate policies established by ENGIE including but not limited to the HR Code of Conduct, Technology Policy & Privacy Policy
  • Perform other duties, as required
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering, Marketing or a related field
  • Equivalent work experience may be considered a substitution
  • 10-15 years of relevant experience in strategic business development role

Skills:
  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows/ MS Office Applications  (with an expertise in power point)
  • Strong business acumen with good analytical and problem-solving ability to assess the business and drive the organization forward
  • Excellent communication skills and presentation skills
  • Strong negotiations skills and ability to effectively work within a team
  • Detail oriented
  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate in a matrix organization
  • Ability to apply strategic thinking to business issues and drive results
  • Possess the ability to constructively confront people and issues

 Assets:
  • Master Degree (MBA) would be considered an asset but not required
  • Engineering Education background
  • Previous experience in the facility management
