ENGIE are recruiting for a Combustion Engineer to be based in Coventry. This is a permanent full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer will be a competitive salary of £30,000 – £33,000 per annum. 

Reporting to the supervisor the successful candidate will be based at our developing District heating network at London Road in Coventry, however will be required to support our large scale District Network in Birmingham as and when required.

Main duties and responsibilities
  • Carry out the defined planned maintenance regime for all contractual obligations.
  • Carry out repairs, reactive maintenance and minor installation works as instructed on plant.
  • Attend, diagnose and repair faults having due regard to customer care in this specific environment
  • Complete the relevant paperwork and report diligently, through our PC based Asset Management Application.
  • Any other relevant duties that may be required
  • Knowledge of water treatment systems and their controlled uses would offer a distinct advantage, as this role requires weekly water condition testing for cooling Towers.
  • Knowledge and or AP11 qualification will be a requirement of this role, due to the nature of the MTHW delivery at our Heat Transfer Station.
  • The role also requires the successful incumbent to become part of an OOH's Call out Rota, frequency : 1 week every 3.
  • Maintain all documentation and records to the highest standard
  • Ensure jobs are closed down promptly to allow for timely invoicing
  • Have an understanding of the contracts and charging structures
  • Project a professional image of the ENGIE District Energy Group at all times to external and internal customers, this is to include clear channels of communication
  • Other tasks as directed by Line Management

Qualifications and Experience
  • A relevant technical qualification – must include commercial gas qualification and burner experience
  • Empirical skills in the remedial and statutory maintenance of Commercial boiler plant
  • Experience of working on MTHW systems and steam systems and boiler maintenance
  • Fault-finding and practical skills
  • Able to work unsupervised and function as part of a team
  • Sustaining the good working relationship with CSWDC, the provider of our primary energy source
  • Ideally live within an easy commute of Birmingham ( 25 miles)
