ENGIE are recruiting for a Cleaning Manager to be based in Portsmouth -PO6 3LY. This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.


Main Responsibilities/Duties Include:


  • Proactively and positively contribute to the achievement of deliverables and deadlines through individual and team effort. Manage the production of the required deliverables and control risks.

  • Support team members to deliver on their functionally relevant objectives through offering advice, guidance and support as appropriate.

  • Liaison with Senior Professionals and related functions to ensure that work is neither overlooked nor duplicated.

  • Ensure that expertise is seen as a resource within and outside the business and form working partnerships within FM services and the Trust, with an emphasis on customer interfaces.

  • Ensure provision of accurate information to management team to achieve activity, quality and financial targets required in meeting the objects of the services being planned in the methodology review.

  • Provide knowledge and auditing to ensure Business compliance with Health and Safety legislation and the ISO quality system.

  • Proactively manage forthcoming problems, highlighting to the senior management team areas of concern.

  • Expert on Quality ISO 9001 issues, providing advice and guidance to all Managers and staff, as appropriate.  

  • Carry out informal disciplinary action and present or hear management case at formal disciplinary meetings.

  • Deal with grievances as required and report problems to senior management for action.

  • Ensure all staff under your control receive Performance reviews and are communicated with at all relevant times

  • Ensure that all staff are aware of the project work being undertaken, regularly providing both presentation updates as may be required by the organization.

  • Assist with staff welfare issues. Liaising with HR and Occupational Health as required


Required Qualifications, Skills or Experience:


  • Ability to understand the day to day operations of the dept and Hospital
  • Skill in developing policy and procedure documentation
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to make procedural decisions and judgments
  • Capability to work to strict and ever-changing deadlines
  • Overall understanding of current health service sector issues 
  • Ability to serve on task forces and/or committees
  • Familiar with ISO 9001
  • Managerial experience in a busy working environment
  • Knowledge of Portsmouth Hospitals
