About the Role
We're looking for a Financial Accountant to join a collaborative Financial Reporting team, helping deliver accurate financial reporting and supporting key finance activities across the business. You'll play an important role in month-end close, statutory reporting, audit support and continuous improvement initiatives during an exciting period of transformation.
- Prepare and post month-end journals, helping ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations, investigate discrepancies and maintain general ledger integrity.
- Prepare reporting packs and support the delivery of statutory financial statements in line with Australian accounting standards.
- Contribute to year-end audit activities, working closely with auditors and internal stakeholders.
- Own the Fixed Asset Register and lease accounting activities
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of financial reporting activities
About You
A detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys working with complex financial information and takes pride in delivering accurate, high-quality outcomes. Brings strong technical accounting capability, excellent organisational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- CA qualified (or holds an equivalent professional accounting qualification) with a degree in accounting.
- Experience in financial accounting and a strong understanding of core accounting processes and controls.
- Experience within the energy, utilities or renewable energy sector will be highly regarded, with an understanding of the commercial and regulatory environment considered advantageous
- Advanced Excel skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple systems and datasets.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet critical reporting deadlines.
- A collaborative communicator who builds effective relationships while handling sensitive information with discretion.
