We’re looking for someone who thrives on analysing data, developing new products and client engagement.

This position as Wind Expert Performance & Reliability offers you the chance to join our Wind & Marine Cluster at Laborelec (~13 colleagues) where you’ll play a key role in both operational expertise and research and innovation.

We are active in the field (onshore & offshore) and develop new projects, tools and methods to optimize wind turbine performance and reliability.

 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES as Wind Expert Performance & Reliability

  • Analyse wind turbine and wind farm data (SCADA, sensors, inspections) to assess performance and structural health
  • Monitor system dynamics and identify root causes of operational issues,  including detection of suboptimal conditions impacting system lifetime
  • Develop predictive models and actionable recommendations to improve reliability, optimize performance, and extend asset lifetime
  • Translate technical analyses into clear insights for clients and stakeholders, supporting strategic decisions and value propositions
  • Communicate project progress and results effectively within the team and to external partners
  • Explore new research directions and innovative solutions by leveraging operational data and emerging technologies

 

YOUR PROFILE as Wind Expert Performance & Reliability

  • Master’s degree in Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering, focused on renewable energy
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in wind energy projects
  • Deep knowledge of wind turbine architecture and operational behaviour (drivetrain, blades, pitch/yaw systems, generators, power electronics, control systems)
  • Proven experience with SCADA data, root-cause analysis, and performance optimization
  • Strong Python and data analysis skills
  • Experience in technico-commercial activities, supporting client engagement and proposal development
  • Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical concepts clearly
  • Fluent in English; Dutch and/or French is a plus
  • Willing to travel for short assignments in Belgium and Europe
  • Experience with structural health monitoring, vibration analysis, or work at wind turbine manufacturers/operators is an big advantage.
