What You Can Expect

As the Vice President, Government & Regulatory Affairs in Washington, DC you will be the primary representative for ENGIE North America’s interest before US legislators and regulators, regional transmission organization and independent system operators and their stakeholder processes, regional, and municipal government officials, and industry associations. Every day, you will report to the Senior Vice President, Government & Regulatory Affairs  to ensure that the company’s interests are considered and protected in legislation, regulations, and policies impacting the company in these key markets. Additionally this person will assist with business development initiatives and market design due diligence for new projects.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • A bachelor’s degree in public administration, political science, economics, business administration, or related field
  • A minimum of fifteen (15) years in the role of advocacy and legislative policy, leadership level engagement in industry associations or at a senior professional level with a company’s government organization or working in the legislative process in government
  • Must possess a detailed understanding of the politics and legislative framework at the federal level and in all key US power markets, including the respective market structures, legal frameworks and active political parties and positions as they relate to ENGIE North American business interests
  • Proven experience providing testimony before legislative or regulatory bodies
  • Prior leadership positions within industry organizations
  • Expert ability to research existing laws relevant to ENGIE North America and circulates summaries to Business Development, operations and compliance employees using meetings, written correspondence, and existing regulations/statutes and relying on superior research ability and a mastery of regulatory policies, procedures, and protocols in a particular market in order to help secure necessary permits for new and pending ENGIE North American business development projects in that state or region
  • Experience advocating for changes to legislation, regulations, and policies that affect the company business in the clean energy industry and communicates this information to senior level ENGIE North American staff and articulates in writing and orally strategies to amend, block, or expand laws in a way to benefit ENGIE North America

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 30% - 40% of the time with the need for some overnight trips
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record; ability to drive to various government locations and agencies
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies;

 

 

Compensation

Salary Range: $184,200 – $275,310 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
