What You Can Expect

As the Senior Advisor, Procurement you will play a pivotal role in ENGIE’s North American renewable energy strategy, overseeing procurement for both Solar and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). This strategic role emphasizes commercial execution excellence, supplier alignment, and sourcing strategies that support ENGIE’s development, engineering, and operational goals.

You will lead a small team, providing strategic guidance and oversight—not day-to-day execution—on procurement activities. You’ll also help define and implement procurement strategies, frame agreements, and processes that support ENGIE’s North American operations.

Embedded within a global procurement team, you will collaborate with Development, Engineering, Operations, and local procurement teams to ensure alignment with ENGIE’s technology and project delivery goals. You’ll also contribute to cross-regional initiatives and continuous improvement efforts as a key member of ENGIE’s global procurement community.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead sourcing and contracting for key Solar and BESS equipment and services, ensuring alignment with category strategies and project needs
  • Develop and manage supplier relationships, including qualification, performance assessment, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Provide market intelligence and competitive analysis to support procurement strategy development
  • Drive RFQ processes from strategy through negotiation and contract execution, ensuring compliance with ENGIE’s governance, CSR, and Health & Safety (H&S) policies
  • Coordinate with project teams to integrate procurement into project planning and execution, including contract management support
  • Ensure alignment and communication with local procurement organizations, including training, compliance, and ERP processes
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (BD, O&M, Engineering, Legal, H&S) to ensure procurement strategies meet technical and operational requirements
  • Support performance tracking and reporting tools such as Ariba, ERP systems, and supplier scorecards

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum of a Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in strategic procurement, with a strong background in sourcing, contracting, and supplier management—preferably in project-based roles within the industrial or renewable energy sectors
  • Familiarity with technical concepts in renewable energy and energy storage
  • Effective negotiation skills and a proven ability to manage supplier relationships and complex contracts
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with fluency in English required to collaborate across global, multicultural, and remote teams
  • Proficiency with procurement tools and systems (e.g., Ariba, ERP) and performance tracking methodologies
  • Highly organized and process-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under pressure
  • A pragmatic, team-oriented mindset with the ability to resolve conflict, promote best practices, and adapt in a dynamic environment
