What You Can Expect

As our Project Manager – Development, you will be a key member of the ENGIE Capital Projects team at Georgetown University, supporting the early-stage planning and development of utility and infrastructure projects that sustain and enhance the University’s long-term energy systems. You’ll help shape the project pipeline by maintaining planning documentation, schedules, and governance records that keep our capital plan aligned and moving forward.

This position supports ENGIE’s 50-year partnership with Georgetown University to operate, maintain, and enhance the campus utility systems. You will help advance the development of projects that include chilled water, steam, electrical, HVAC, and renewable energy systems—critical to the campus’s operational reliability and sustainability goals.

No two days are the same. You’ll support feasibility studies, manage approval documentation, track action items, and assist in developing project business cases. Your success will be measured by your ability to maintain accurate planning data, coordinate efficiently across teams, and ensure that projects are fully prepared for execution within ENGIE’s governance and University approval frameworks.

Additional duties include the following:

  • Maintain and update planning documentation, including master schedules, five-year plans, and approval records
  • Coordinate the preparation of project approval documentation, ensuring consistency and accuracy
  • Organize and facilitate planning meetings, track action items, and monitor follow-up completion
  • Support Project Development Advisors and Engineers by compiling technical and financial inputs for feasibility studies and funding requests
  • Manage reporting dashboards and documentation related to capital planning and governance
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment between planning, approvals, and project readiness
  • Provide analytical and scheduling support to the Project Development Director and senior leadership
  • Apply project management tools (Excel, Smartsheet) to track milestones and data accuracy
  • Potentially manage smaller-scale studies or early-stage development assignments as directed

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in project management or project development, ideally within utilities, infrastructure, or energy environments
  • Familiarity with capital planning, documentation management, and governance processes
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and scheduling skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Smartsheet, Lucid chart, and other project management software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to present to leadership
  • Customer service mindset and collaborative attitude
  • Experience in university, campus, or district energy settings preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities accurately and effectively

Additional Details

  • Eligible for hybrid work as permitted by project schedules
  • Minimal travel required (less than 5%)
  • Must comply with all ENGIE ethics, governance, and safety policies
  • Requires strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills in a multi-stakeholder environment
  • Occasional field visits may be required to support development and site planning activities
