What You Can Expect
As the Maintenance Supervisor at Georgetown University, you will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and overseeing all maintenance activities related to mechanical and electrical equipment and piping systems. This includes, but is not limited to, turbines, generators, pumps, motors, compressors, valves, electrical controls, and high-voltage circuit breakers. Every day you will provide overall supervision for field technicians and subcontractors during installation, maintenance, alteration, replacement and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment and facilities. You will report to the Maintenance Manager.
You will:
- Initiate immediate repairs resulting from forced outages; and communicate status to plant chain of command
- Oversee and coordinate activities of the Mechanical Maintenance department in compliance with personnel policies and procedures
- Assist in planning, developing, and scheduling major maintenance activities including overhauls, replacements and installations
- Coordinate maintenance activities with other station sections and support personnel
- Review and evaluate the need for tools, parts and materials for mechanical maintenance work
- Respond to emergencies or unanticipated electrical or mechanical maintenance requirements outside normal work hours
- In concert with the Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Planner, help to schedule and prioritize maintenance activities within mechanical maintenance
- Recommend action on maintenance personnel matters
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering and a minimum of five (5) years of relevant industry experience
OR
- High School Diploma and at least nine (9) years of progressively responsible experience in a related technical field
OR
- Valid Journeyman trade license (such as steamfitter, millwright, electrician, pipefitter) and five (5) years of experience as an electrical and/or maintenance supervisor
- Must have demonstrated technical ability in the operation and maintenance of industrial systems
- Must have in-depth knowledge of power generation, power generation equipment and technology
Additional Details
This role requires attendance at a worksite on a daily basis
Ability to work overtime, as well as any schedule including nights and weekends
Must be available to travel domestically up to 5% of the time
Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license, may drive license is company vehicle
Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
This position consists of 30% of outdoor work, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions
Thorough knowledge of all plant systems and understanding of process diagrams, simple electrical diagrams and operating instructions
Extensive knowledge in the installation of mechanical and electrical equipment in a generating and or thermal production plant
Knowledge of maintenance requirements for boilers, chillers, high/low voltage equipment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Maximo CMMS programs
Ability to use analytical judgment to supervise and perform diversified work, making decisions within prescribed limitations
Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and take directions from others
Compensation
Range: $125,000.00 to $158,000.00 USD
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
