What You Can Expect
As our Contract Advisor, you will lead the strategy development, sourcing and execution of contracts, specifically for construction and engineering, related to capital improvement projects for campus energy distribution systems. The Contract Advisor will work closely with Project Managers and Functional Teams to ensure that projects are properly contracted in compliance with contracting strategies, procurement policies, regulatory and corporate governance requirements with the objective of enabling the successful delivery of capital projects on campus.
This role will be a part of ENGIE’s Capital Projects Contract Management Team and be based at the Georgetown University campus. The Contracts Advisor will also liaise and share knowledge, lessons learned, and best practices with other members of the Contracts Team in Houston, TX, Columbus, OH, and Iowa City, IA.
You will:
- Develop contracting strategies for capital projects ensuring alignment with project schedules and stakeholder requirements
- Lead competitive sourcing processes such as Request for Proposals for contractor/supplier selection
- Negotiate terms and conditions and commercial structure of engineering and construction contracts
- Continuously identify and evaluate contractor/supplier relationships
- Participate in the administration of projects such as contractual submittals, notices, change orders, and project close-out requirements
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, including supporting reviews of contractor/supplier invoicing for compliance with contracts, and evaluating and qualifying new and existing contractors
What You’ll Bring
- A minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Construction Management or related field
- Seven (7) or more years of experience in a related field where you have developed a background in contract development or contract administration or project related execution
- You will have gained experience in energy systems or construction with public, industrial, or commercial customers
- An understanding of Project Delivery Methods, execution and project related tax, finance, insurance and legal issues
- Experience in planning and working independently as well as being a collaborative team player
- Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently at a fast pace and with accuracy
- You have excellent communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Additional Details
This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy: We require a minimum of three days in the office per week, with the ability to work additional days on site when business necessitates it
Must be available to travel domestically up to 5% of the time
Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record
Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
This position consists of 5% of outdoor work, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions
Compensation
Salary Range: $136,680.00 – $182,160.00 USD annually
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
