We are now seeking a knowledgeable Regional Director based in either Bicester or London to drive the sector growth to increase its current market share, leveraging project opportunities from new and existing client bases. You will contribute to the delivery of strategic objectives for the sector, whilst driving value and innovation to showcase market leading design, innovation and technical expertise. You will be an active contributor to wider Group thought leadership and strategy events and be a convincing and inspirational leader, together with providing effective mentoring, decision making and escalation point the existing management team.
Role Responsibilities:
- Understand and promoted RED culture across the business
- Contributes to thought leadership and strategic positioning across the business
- Develops and agrees corporate goals and assists in implementation of same
- Operational leadership and day-to-day management of team
- Takes strategic level responsibility for business/project functions
- Monitors project risk and risk mitigation strategy
- Monitors project KPIs and assists in resolution of deviations
- Develop and mentor the team
- Reviews cost and profit diagnosis on projects including feasibility studies
- Review and preparation of fee bids
- Preparation of engaging and succinct reports for the board and clients or others
- Establish and develop strong and trusted client relationships through high quality project delivery and value for clients
- Drives value and innovation in delivery of projects through technical or industry insights
- Ensure cross-fertilisation within sector and client for the Engie group
- Takes Team Management role in the development, design and coordination of engineering project services for M&E installations, systems, equipment, facilities etc. Provides regional/local leadership, project, fiscal and business management
- Takes regional/local management level responsibility for critical business function (HR, Finance etc)
- Carries out cost and profit diagnosis on projects including feasibility studies and preparation of fee bids
- Reviews status advised by project personnel and external parties and modifies schedules or plans as required. Prepares project reports for Management, Client or others.
- Develops and specifies applications of controls, instruments, and operating systems for all building engineering services purposes
- Surveys tests and reports on existing electrical/mechanical installations
- Specifies activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing confirm to functional specifications and customer requirements
- Represents Company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams and contractor teams
- Ensure technical excellence and rigour of projects
- Works with other directors and staff to set direction of company (vision, mission and values)
- Contributes to the development of robust team structure and effective succession planning.
- Ensures risk and performance monitoring analysis takes place through effective systems of internal control and delegation
- Takes a holistic view in the selection and application of engineering concepts and solutions
- Develop and promote technical excellence in design within the office
- Regional/local office fiscal management against budget/target
- Maximise current and future project profitability
- Maximise opportunities for new and repeat business
- Team leadership and staff development/mentoring
- Support the delivery of projects in accordance with the expectations of the RED Project Delivery Process from a Project Management, Financial Management, QA/QC and Technical Review perspective.
Role Requirements:
- 10+ years in a combination of top tier management or strategy background with relevant leadership, technical and consulting expertise
- Excellent educational background
- Educated to Degree Level
- MSc in engineering discipline, Professional certification MCIBSE or MIEE
- Chartered Engineer status
- Stable career background in Building Services or with a major ACS consultancy
- Proven history of major project delivery in relevant sector
- Proven experience of leading a project work streams
- Proven experience of the capacity to convince and influence
- Proven ability to structure and synthesize complex topics
- Understanding of business strategy principles and skills
- Measurable record as primary point of contact for major sector clients – sustainable income stream
- Have robust knowledge and understanding of European / International marketplace and an established profile in this area
- Balanced strong communicator
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and oral
- In depth experience of business unit/sector P&L
- Experience of having managed International projects (desirable)
- Sound knowledge & working application of key health and safety issues and legislation
- Appreciation & working knowledge of contract and business law
- Knowledge of MS office applications word, excel etc
- Ability to use analyse complex analytical data
- Ability to manage and prioritise own workload
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Advanced leadership & mentoring skills
- Chairing/facilitation of meeting skills
- Good understanding of bs standards/ UK and EU regulations/codes
- Presentation skills – ability to make formal presentation to clients and third parties, pitched to suit different audiences
- Understanding of business strategy principles and skills
- Act in an ethical manner and follows the principles of the ethics charter and ethics in practice guidelines
