Overview

Our team is growing! Excellent opportunity for a Principal Market Analysis to join our Global Energy Management & Sales (GEMS) ANZ business to provide subject matter expertise and leadership within the market analysis stream of the Analytics team. The analysis and insights you will generate will lead to improved decision making across the rest of GEMS ANZ and the wider ANZ business.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Market Analysis stream within the analytics team
  • Engage with the Spot Trading, Forward Trading, Portfolio and Commercial teams to Develop tools to provide market analysis and insights for Australian Gas and Electricity physical and contract markets
  • Review external reports from market bodies and consultants and provide insightful summaries to internal stakeholders.
  • Mentor and train junior members of the team
  • Ensure that the analytical work is complete to a high standard and on time, while regularly communicating the status of the project to Manager Analytics
  • provide thought leadership and creativity in developing innovative solutions to new problems, together with the Head of Analytics and Principal Analyst Quantitative Modelling

 

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will bring forward your solid understanding of the energy markets, particularly the NEM and East Coast gas market experience, as well as your strong programming, technical and statistical skills.

You will be an excellent analytical thinker and problem solver and can work collaboratively with others to achieve shared goals.

You will also have project leadership and mentoring of junior team members experience.

The Global Energy Management & Sales (GEMS) business unit is the fully integrated trading arm of the ENGIE Group.
