The Role:

 

The Head of Tax will lead, develop and execute the tax strategy for ENGIE ANZ and all operational aspects to ensure to tax compliance requirements under Australian tax law are met and tax risk is minimized and managed.

 

This role will report to the Chief Financial Officer and can be worked flexibly from the office and home – hybrid work model.

 

Reasonable requests for part time work will be considered.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead the development and implementation of tax strategy, anticipating complex issues, challenges, and opportunities, and ensuring integration with wider corporate strategy

 

  • Communicate the tax function's strategy and its relationship to the organization's mission, vision and values; clarify the actions needed to implement it; motivate people to commit to these actions

 

  • Provide authoritative specialist advice to the Australian leadership team to guide the implementation of policy and the design and implementation of projects and change initiatives

 

  • Provide key tax support and analysis in relation to business development, M&A and business financing opportunities to grow the existing asset base in Australia, including tax structuring, modelling and due diligence.

 

  • Lead tax compliance for ENGIE ANZ, and provide tax support and advice in relation to all state and federal taxes (income tax, transfer pricing, GST, FBT, payroll tax, land tax, stamp duty)

 

 

About You:

 

To be successful in this role, you will be a tax leader with extensive experience in providing advice and guidance on tax matters and managing tax risk frameworks and tax governance in a complex multinational business environment, preferably within the energy sector.  You have developed solid understanding of tax effect accounting and able to manage both complexity and ambiguity.  You are action-oriented and collaborative in your approach and possess excellent communication skills. 

Relevant tertiary qualifications coupled with CA or CPA status will be essential.
