The opportunity:

Our retail energy business is at the forefront of low-carbon products, services and technologies, which help Australian households manage their energy bills and emissions.

 

The Flexibility Operations and Optimisation Specialist will develop, deliver and maintain digital tools to analyse, manage and optimise flexible assets within the Engie Retail Innovation product portfolio. These assets include rooftop solar, home batteries, electric hot water systems, smart meters and electric vehicles

 

This newly created position is involved in the use of appropriate data science techniques and methodologies to identify opportunities for ENGIE to find new sources of value and foster strong relationships with consumers.

 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Head of Flexibility Technology in efforts across the business unit to fulfil the strategic objectives, including developing, delivering and maintaining digital solutions and providing continuous improvements to the operating model
  • Scope, develop and deliver digital solutions to analyse, manage and optimise flexible assets in the Engie Retail Innovation (ERI) portfolio
  • Develop and deliver automated or semi-automated solutions for existing manual processes related to ERI products, improving the efficiency for the Product Managers and the Flexibility Technology team.
  • Provide operational expertise and maintenance support for the technical solutions developed for the ERI portfolio, and others developed by third parties

About you:

  • Deep knowledge of energy markets
  • Expert knowledge and experience of external and internal data sources in energy sector
  • Highly competent in data analytics, modelling and visualisation using a range of languages, techniques and programs (e.g. python, SQL, linear programming, Power BI)
  • Able to work autonomously
  • Competent in using data for storytelling purposes to non-technical stakeholders
