Financial Analyst

The Role:
Excellent opportunity for a Financial Analyst to grow their career within our Acquisitions, Investments and Financial Advisory (AIFA) team. The incumbent will develop quantitative financial models that are used for decision making and manage inputs and assumptions from various departments to provide output of key financial and industry indicators required to support investment decision.
This role will report to the Head of AIFA ANZ and work closely with local and international internal teams. Our teams work flexibly from the office and home – hybrid work model.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop robust project models in line with AIFA best practices and ensure all relevant investment guidelines have been considered
- Identify and thoroughly analyse key valuation drivers
- Liaise directly with business development, finance and tax to understand and develop business plans and relevant assumptions, scenarios and sensitivities, including the accounting and tax treatment, and assess their impact on the project
- Calculate both valuation as well as accounting impacts (net debt, COI, ROCE, Net Results, profit on disposal) of investment decisions, contributing to quality and uniformity of valuation methods
- Support the preparation of investment files in anticipation of submission to investment committee with key issues clearly identified and succinctly communicated in presentations and communicated in advance if required
- Support in the structuring, financial modelling, negotiation, and execution of non-recourse project financings
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have advanced modelling and excel skills, including VBA and have the ability to summarise complex issues into easily understandable key points, particularly in PowerPoint. You are action oriented and can work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple projects whilst ensuring attention to detail.
The successful incumbent will have knowledge and understanding of the energy sector and financial valuation techniques and will have the opportunity to develop their analytical expertise.
