Job Title: Solar Sales Engineer
Position Reports to: Business Development Manager (Solar)
Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
SUMMARY: As a Solar Sales Engineer, you will have the first contact with our customers, providing them with information about our products and the benefits of going solar. Your duties will include analyzing the needs of the customer, calculating resources, preparing quotes, and ensuring constant interaction with customers from original contact up to financial close. You will also be required to visit customer sites and consult on larger installations.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Builds a rapport with customers and provides them with tailor-made solar solutions
- Meeting with customers in-store and out at site locations
- Providing customers with information about PPA lease solutions.
- Gathering information to accurately identify the customer’s solar needs
- Supporting the technical team in selecting solar energy products and systems to best suit the customer’s needs
- Knowledge in energy efficiency and heat recovery to be able to cross-sell ENGIE’s products
- Creating fully customized energy packages for large-scale solar installations
- Providing after-sales service including courtesy calls and site visits
- Following up on sales quotes from other members of the sales team
- Completing sales order paperwork (confidentiality agreements, information requests, non-binding offers, etc.
- Generating potential leads for a new accounts.
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION / KNOWLEDGE:
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical installations (busbar, switchgear, transformers, etc.)
- In-depth knowledge of solar equipment and installations
- Knowledge in MV/LV components
- National electrical code and standards design/construction
- Knowledges in traditional power plants and diesel gensets
- Safety protocols
- Basic knowledge of sales software
- Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office environment including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
EXPERIENCE: Proven experience as a Solar Sales Engineer
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales and executed projects
- Relationship management skills and openness to feedback
- Native Arabic speaker, with a highly articulate English level
- Strong presentation, communication, and negotiation skills
- Ability to relate technical information in layman’s terms
- Ability to travel and work irregular hours
- Ability to personally deliver aligned, clear and concise presentations to customers.
