ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Senior Project Engineer, Mechanical is responsible for managing and overseeing mechanical works for data centre design and build projects. The role involves coordinating with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure mechanical systems are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and client requirements. The Senior Project Engineer also provides technical guidance to site teams and supports the Project Manager in achieving overall project objectives.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the planning, coordination, execution, and delivery of mechanical works to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements.
• Oversee mechanical services including ACMV, chilled water systems, ventilation systems, plumbing and sanitary systems, fire protection systems, fuel systems, and other related M&E works.
• Review design drawings, technical specifications, method statements, material submissions, shop drawings, and engineering documents to ensure compliance with project requirements and standards.
• Manage and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, clients, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and timely resolution of technical issues.
• Develop and monitor project schedules, work sequences, manpower allocation, material procurement, and resource planning to achieve project milestones.
• Monitor site progress, construction activities, and productivity to ensure works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Lead site coordination meetings, technical discussions, progress reviews, and interface management with other disciplines.
• Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, statutory regulations, quality standards, and Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) requirements.
• Manage project documentation, including progress reports, inspection records, RFIs, technical correspondences, testing and commissioning records, and client submissions.
• Review and evaluate subcontractors' work quality, performance, progress claims, variation works, and manpower deployment.
• Identify project risks, technical challenges, and potential delays, and implement effective mitigation measures to minimise project impact.
• Lead project handover activities, including as-built drawings, O&M manuals, warranties, training, final documentation, and project close-out requirements.
  
  

JOB REQUIREMENTS

1. Minimum Diploma in Mechanical or equivalent
   
   
2. At least 5 years relevant experience in construction, M&E, building services or Industrial projects

3. Strong technical knowledge of ACMV, chilled water, ventilation, plumbing and sanitary, fire protection, and other mechanical building services systems.

4. Proven experience in project planning, site management, subcontractor coordination and project handover activities.
   
   

5. Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, technical specifications, BIM coordination models, and construction documentation.
   
   
6. Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
