What You Can Expect

As our Power Settlements Analyst II, you will be responsible for the estimation and reconciliation of monthly gross margin for the assigned scope. Additionally within the assigned scope, you will be responsible for reconciliation of ISO settlement costs and customer invoice data, maintenance of index/pass-through billing determinants, escalation of market settlement issues, and closely working with the Settlement Director and Accounting to ensure our financial statements and balance sheet accurately reflect. This position is based in Houston, TX, and reports to the Power Settlements Director.

 

  • Prepare month end Gross Margin Estimates for assigned scope and communicate results to GBS Accounting for booking
  • Prepare and analyze monthly revenue and COGS variances (estimates vs. actuals), including price and volume impacts, to support timely monthly close activities
  • Identify, investigate, and follow up on customer invoicing, usage, and revenue forecasting issues
  • Develop, maintain, and update market index and pass through product pricing curves used as billing determinants
  • Partner with the Operations Billing team to ensure accurate customer invoicing for index and pass through products
  • Track, analyze, and report margin impacts and long term neutrality for index and pass through products
  • Validate ISO invoices by reconciling charges and data to internal systems, and coordinate clarification or disputes with ISOs or counterparties as needed
  • Prepare actual revenue and COGS results and communicate to GBS Accounting to support calendarized general ledger entries
  • Collaborate with IT to support forecast quantity and revenue reliability, data integrity, and system accuracy
  • Work closely with the Energy Management Settlements team on ISO settlement processes and with GBS Accounting on wholesale counterparty settlements
  • Partner cross functionally with Portfolio Management, Pricing, Operations, IT, and vendors to ensure accurate data, reliable processes, and well-coordinated end to end workflows
  • Provide stakeholders with user friendly access to settlements data.
  • Maintain strong market knowledge and stay informed of relevant regulatory developments

 

What You’ll Bring

 

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business. In lieu of a degree, you have a combination of years of progressive, hands-on experience in power settlements, financial operations, and accounting processes, with a strong background in ISO market settlements, gross margin reconciliation, and data analysis to support accurate financial reporting
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in retail or wholesale power
  • You have a strong background in retail settlements, margin analysis, or financial analysis
  • You are knowledgeable in ISO and wholesale trade settlements, with the ability to interpret and reconcile complex market data
  • You have experience working in deadline-driven environments, demonstrating strong organization and follow-up skills
  • You are an independent thinker with excellent verbal and written communication skills, confident in presenting and defending your work
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and have working knowledge of MS SQL, Oracle SQL, Siebel CRM, and Lodestar LPSS

Compensation

Salary Range: $63,300 – $96,945 USD annually

 

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

 

ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors. 

 

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
