Energy Trading Specialist

We are looking for an Energy Trading Specialist to carry out long-term business deals, including prospecting business opportunities, preparing proposals, and negotiating contracts. The role also involves identifying opportunities to improve the company’s energy trading processes, aiming to close electricity sales to end consumers.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the execution of electricity sales contracts to end consumers, with a focus on long-term operations involving free consumers, in accordance with company and electricity sector regulations.
  • Develop market prospecting, prepare proposals, and negotiate sales contracts, always complying with company and sector standards.
  • Build relationships with clients, the energy market (managers, consultants, traders, etc.), and industry associations, creating a visit agenda to strengthen the company’s brand and positioning.
  • Identify new business opportunities that can add value to the company through market analysis, maintaining synergy with the intelligence area.
  • Analyze proposals and electricity sales contracts and verify the instruments that formalize operations to mitigate potential risks to the company.
  • Maintain the company’s average price sustainability in the long term to ensure adequate sales margins.
  • Contribute to the improvement of corporate systems, proposal and contract models, as well as the area’s trading practices and procedures.
  • Support the activities of energy trading analysts and specialists when necessary, using your experience and business knowledge.
  • Provide insights to the Energy Trading area regarding the electricity market business environment.
  • Conduct analysis, creation, revision, and/or maintenance of regulatory documentation and processes within the area.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Business Management, and/or Law;
  • Intermediate to Advanced English;
  • Computer skills: word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, internet, email – Intermediate level;
  • Advanced knowledge of Brazilian electricity market trading rules and procedures;
  • Advanced understanding of energy purchase and sale contracts and both free and regulated contracting environments;
  • Advanced multidisciplinary knowledge (finance, environment, legal, marketing, accounting, tax, market);
  • Advanced negotiation techniques.
