SOFTWARE ENGINEER 
HYBRID- SANTIAGO CHILE 

The Role:

Designs and creates new software by analyzing requirements and implementing solutions in support of Energy Data Management. Significant ingenuity and latitude is expected.

 

Role Responsibilities: 

  • Work closely with product managers, UX designers, and engineering teammates to design and implement innovative and robust client-side software applications
  • This role includes both developing new application features and resolving technical issues during business hours. Roughly 40% time will be spent on issue investigation and resolution.
  • Design and develop server-side code for web-based, SaaS software applications.
  • Design and develop software subsystems that communicate in real time to external services using Web Services and/or APIs.
  • Modify existing database schemas by adding, changing, and/or removing fields in existing database schemas.
  • Develop and deploy infrastructure to support features delivered via Infrastructure as Code implementations.
  • Build integrations between our software and third-party enterprise software solutions.
  • Utilize design patterns in the implementation of reusable, performant, and secure components.

Ensure your code is well tested and performant.

 

Education and Experience: 

  • Education/ Certifications/ Experience
    • Bachelor's Degree required in one of the following fields; computer science, software engineering
    • Master’s Degree preferred in one of the following fields; computer science, software engineering
    • 1-3+ years relevant experience with software development, building full stack web applications, ASP.NET, cloud development (AWS, Azure, etc.), building / consuming GraphQL and/or REST APIs, high throughput, scalable systems
    • May consider a combination of relevant experience with educational and other skills and abilities in lieu of educational requirements

Skills and Abilities:

 

    • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
    • Competent in ASP.NET and the use of one or more of the other following technologies and tools to develop web applications.
      • JavaScript
      • TypeScript, React
    • Experience in the following development activities.
      • Designing database schemas to support new features
            • Writing Terraform as IaC solution
            • Building applications utilizing NestJS
            • Working with transactional and/or analytical databases
            • Working with ORMs
            • Interest in infrastructure and utilizing serverless design patterns to support enterprise grade software.
          • Experience building and consuming GraphQL and/or REST APIs
          • Cloud development experience (AWS, Azure, etc.)
          • Good written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work effectively as a contributor in a technical team environment.

Work Environment: 

  • Work schedules are determined by business need and manager discretion; full time employment is considered 40 hours per week

Business travel may be required up to 5% of the time

  • Frequent Use of Hands: Ability to use hands for typing, handling documents, and operating office equipment.

  • Mobility: Ability to move within an office environment to access files, office machinery, and attend meetings.
  • Reaching and Handling: Ability to reach, handle, and manipulate objects and equipment within an office or remote workspace.

Occasional Lifting: Ability to lift and move items, such as files or office supplies, typically up to 10 pounds

At ENGIE Impact, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining pay. Actual pay will vary depending on factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, qualifications, location, and internal equity. All offers will be in compliance with all local, state, and federal minimum wage requirements.

 

The target pay range for this position is 70,000 - 120,000 USD

 

In addition to base pay, employees are eligible for our comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Additional ENGIE benefits include a 401k plan, paid time off, paid holidays, and annual bonus.
