What You Can Expect

  • At ENGIE, we believe clean energy is built project by project, decision by decision. We're seeking Project Developers to help advance utility-scale energy infrastructure projects across North American power markets, with opportunities to support utility-scale energy storage and other renewable energy infrastructure projects. In this role, your work will directly contribute to strengthening grid reliability and accelerating the transition to a zero-carbon energy future
  • As a Project Developer, you'll guide projects through key stages of development, from site evaluation and feasibility through permitting, interconnection, commercial structuring, investment approval, and construction readiness. You'll identify opportunities, navigate complex development challenges, and help bring high-impact energy infrastructure projects to fruition
  • Working closely with teams across land acquisition, permitting, interconnection, engineering, commercial strategy, pre-construction, and project delivery, you'll play a central role in shaping project outcomes, mitigating risk, and advancing ENGIE's growth strategy. This position offers meaningful exposure to internal and external stakeholders and the opportunity to influence decisions that help define the next generation of energy infrastructure within ISO/RTO and regulated utility markets

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the development of utility-scale energy infrastructure projects across regional power markets, guiding projects from early-stage feasibility through construction readiness
  • Drive key workstreams including land acquisition, permitting, environmental review, interconnection, and commercial structuring
  • Manage regulatory processes, agency coordination, application submissions, and public hearings
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners, communities, utilities, public officials, and regulatory agencies
  • Assess project risks and opportunities to support investment decisions and value creation
  • Support power marketing, energy offtake, project financing, and M&A activities, including investment committee materials
  • Monitor market, regulatory, and policy developments and represent ENGIE at industry events and stakeholder forums

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, Finance, Economics, Energy, Planning, or a related field
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience supporting the development of utility-scale renewable energy, energy storage, transmission, infrastructure, or other large-scale capital projects
  • Experience advancing projects through key development milestones, including permitting, interconnection, regulatory review, stakeholder engagement, and construction readiness
  • Experience working within CAISO or other ISO/RTO markets, with familiarity navigating market structures, regulatory requirements, interconnection processes, and stakeholder engagement
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously while identifying risks, solving complex challenges, and driving projects forward
  • Strong relationship-building skills with landowners, community stakeholders, utilities, regulatory agencies, public officials, consultants, and cross-functional teams
  • Understanding of project economics, commercial considerations, and investment decision-making, including the evaluation of project risks and opportunities
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and influence outcomes across technical, commercial, and executive audiences
