What You Can Expect

As our The Sales Support Director, you will be responsible for supervising the Sales Support team, which oversees sales activities related to the review, prioritization, and administration of energy supply transactions. Responsible for ensuring that transactions are completed accurately and on-time, and for the continuous improvement of our sales transaction process.  Act as primary point of contact and subject matter expert for all Sales Transaction processes and issues. This position sits in Houston, TX reporting to the Vice President, Sales

 

 

Oversee Sales Transaction Processes

  • Manage the Request for Pricing (RFPs) process for all regions in the GSERNA service area using the Siebel system (Customer Relationship Management), Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook
  • Review all RFPs to ensure compliance with pricing, product, and sales requirements
  • Manage/Escalate/Discuss/Resolve issues related to non-compliant opportunities with Sales, Operations, Supply and other internal departments as necessary, as well as with third-party sales channels, using email and telephone, relying on knowledge of GSERNA operational processes
  • Act as primary point of contact between the Sales organization and the Operations, Supply, and Marketing teams with respect to sales reporting and transaction processes
  • Provide Sales Leadership with regular reports on deal activity, process issues, and best business practices for indirect and direct sales transactions across all regions

 

Implementation of Efficiency Projects

  • Work with Sales Leaders to identify opportunities for improving the accuracy and/or timeliness of GSERNA Sales transaction processes
  • Develop user requirement for Sales Process improvements and participate in the development of system and process improvement project requirements 
  • Represent the Sales team on project delivery teams, and participate in user testing using Siebel, business requirements documents, established test plans and project management issue tracking system while relying on business and project knowledge in order to test the systematic functionality developed to meet the project goals

 

Personnel Management

  • Manage day to day tasks and ensure proper procedures have been exercised and assist with business related questions
  • Manage coverage model using a rotation schedule and relying on ability to balance team needs, and develop training plans in order to cross train personnel on group functions
  • Interview/Hire/Manage/Training of personnel as needed, using GSERNA recruiting efforts and approved job requisitions, while relying on knowledge of sales service processes and procedures in order to hire the most qualified candidate for the posted position
  • Conduct annual appraisals of employees using Performance Evaluation System, relying on assessment of job performance, in order to provide input for merit increases and bonus allocation
  • Develop performance improvement plans as required for employees using development/improvement plans and relying on knowledge of job performance standards in order to improve employee performance

 

Transaction Subject Matter Expertise

  • Identify and document best practices for all Transactional Sales Processes.  Maintain up-to-date documentation of Sales’ processes accessible by all Sales Teams.
  • Provide regular training to Sales personnel in sales meetings, sales training workshops, and in one-on-one sessions as required. Provide full transaction training and coordinate introductory training with other key functional groups for new members of the Sales Team

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related discipline; however, equivalent combinations of education and relevant industry experience will be considered, including hands-on experience in retail energy sales or in developing and implementing successful sales strategies
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in sales, sales support or marketing
  • You are an enthusiastic, proactive, and innovative self‑starter who acts with a sense of urgency and thrives in dynamic environments.
  • You have strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly and professionally convey information verbally and in writing
  • You are able to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • You are knowledgeable in evaluating information quickly, identifying key issues, and applying sound judgment to drive practical solutions
  • You have strong organizational and prioritization skills, enabling you to plan proactively and manage competing priorities successfully 

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role is required to be in the Houston office at a minimum of  three (3) days per week
  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 20% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record for travel and car rentals
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

 

 

Compensation

Salary Range: $135,000 – $206,885 USD annually

 

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

 

ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors. 

 

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
