As our Sales Manager, you will support ENGIE’s growth objectives by identifying, developing, and converting strategic Commercial & Industrial (C&I) customer opportunities within the NYISO market. You will be responsible for managing complex, high-value sales opportunities, building executive-level relationships with customers and channel partners, and delivering energy solutions that align with customer business objectives and ENGIE’s commercial growth strategy. Working closely with sales leadership and cross-functional teams, you will leverage advanced knowledge of retail energy markets, customer procurement strategies, and ENGIE’s product offerings to drive profitable customer acquisition, retention, and growth. You will serve as a commercial leader within the region by providing market expertise, mentoring less experienced sales professionals, and supporting regional sales initiatives while consistently achieving individual sales objectives.

The Sales Manager is expected to operate with minimal supervision, demonstrate strong commercial judgment, and deliver exceptional sales results while contributing to overall regional performance, customer growth, and long-term market development.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Business Development & Strategic Growth
  • Identify, develop, and secure strategic Commercial & Industrial (C&I) customers for retail electricity, renewable energy, and sustainability solutions
  • Develop and execute regional market growth strategies that support sales objectives and long-term business expansion.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of strategic and high-value opportunities through proactive prospecting, executive networking, broker relationships, referrals, industry participation, and market intelligence
  • Identify emerging market opportunities, customer trends, competitive threats, and industry developments and provide recommendations to sales leadership
  • Lead customer acquisition efforts within targeted market segments and strategic accounts
  • Achieve or exceed individual sales targets related to margin, revenue, contracted volume, customer acquisition, retention, and profitability

Sales Leadership & Commercial Execution

  • Lead complex and strategically significant sales opportunities from prospect identification through contract execution and customer onboarding
  • Develop and present sophisticated customer solutions that align customer objectives with ENGIE's energy, risk management, and sustainability capabilities
  • Independently negotiate and close high-value commercial agreements while ensuring compliance with company governance requirements
  • Manage large multi-location, enterprise, and strategic customer opportunities requiring significant cross-functional coordination
  • Support regional growth initiatives and contribute to the development of sales strategies, market plans, and customer acquisition initiatives
  • Serve as a regional subject matter expert and commercial resource by sharing market knowledge, best practices, and coaching less experienced sales professionals
  • Support strategic customer pursuits that require advanced commercial expertise and executive engagement

Account & Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain executive-level relationships with customers, prospects, consultants, brokers, and channel partners
  • Establish trusted advisor status with key stakeholders by providing strategic guidance on energy procurement, market trends, risk management, sustainability solutions, and emerging energy opportunities
  • Act as a senior commercial representative of ENGIE within assigned markets and customer segments.
  • Manage a portfolio of strategic customer and broker relationships to maximize customer retention, growth, and profitability
  • Lead customer renewals, cross-selling, upselling, and strategic account development initiatives
  • Strengthen ENGIE's market presence through long-term customer and channel partner relationships

Market Expertise & Product Development

  • Maintain expert-level knowledge of retail energy markets, commodity pricing, contract structures, sustainability solutions, and customer procurement strategies
  • Assess complex customer requirements and recommend innovative energy, renewable, and energy management solutions
  • Support product development and go-to-market initiatives through customer feedback, market intelligence, and competitive analysis
  • Monitor regulatory, market, and industry developments and communicate impacts to customers, sales leadership, and internal stakeholders
  • Support adoption and promotion of new products, sustainability offerings, and market solutions
  • Participate in ongoing training and development programs to build sales and industry expertise

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with Supply, Risk, Credit, Pricing, Legal, Operations, Marketing, and Business Controls teams to structure, approve, and execute strategic commercial transactions.
  • Coordinate internal resources to ensure timely proposal delivery, contract execution, onboarding, and customer support
  • Support resolution of complex customer issues, commercial challenges, and contract-related escalations
  • Maintain accurate forecasting, pipeline reporting, opportunity management, and CRM data integrity
  • Participate in regional business planning activities and sales process improvement initiatives

Compliance & Governance

  • Operate within established limits of authority, risk frameworks, compliance requirements, and commercial approval processes
  • Ensure all sales activities are conducted in accordance with ENGIE ethics, compliance, regulatory, and safety standards
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation throughout the sales lifecycle
  • Support audit, control, and governance activities as required
