The Role:

The Director of Sales Operations provides leadership and deep domain knowledge to support a team of Deal Structuring & Proposal Professionals. Works closely with the business and commercial, including direct support on presentations and technical positioning of solutions. Integrates knowledge of business and functional priorities to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

 

Role Responsibilities:

Lead a team managing pricing and Statement of Work (SOW), ensuring alignment with strategic goals. 

Drive operational excellence and process improvements to meet organizational objectives. 

Coordinate SME resources to support high-impact sales activities and strategic outcomes. 

Act as an SME on ENGIE Impact’s ecosystem, key clients, and case studies, sharing insights with internal and external stakeholders. 

Facilitate cross-functional collaboration among sales, finance, business, and product teams to grow market share. 

Provide technical support and resolve issues for the commercial operations team. 

Translate complex technical requirements into clear, actionable information for stakeholders. 

Contribute to solution pricing, costing, and price book governance. 

Stay updated on industry trends, providing training and guidance to teams. 

Streamline contract templates and processes, improving deal velocity and execution. 

Support sales during contract negotiations and assist with complex or high-value deals. 

Enhance internal communication channels and perform related tasks to achieve organizational goals.

Experience and Education

Bachelor's Degree required in one of the following fields; business administration, accounting, finance, communications, marketing, sales, environment, quantitative concentration, or related field  

Master’s Degree preferred in one of the following fields; business administration, accounting, finance, communications, marketing, sales, environment, quantitative concentration, or related field 

10+ years relevant experience and a proven track record of effectively leading, motivating, and mentoring teams to achieve targets in technical, consultative environment. 

5+ years of Senior Management experience with organizations of at least 100 direct or indirect reports preferred 

Knowledge of resource (energy/waste/water) services and controls including renewable energy solutions, carbon data management, utility and sustainability services. 

Experience providing financial/economic analysis to support pricing, SOW and solutions architecture Client facing engagements.  

Consistent track record of exceptional performance, having delivered quantifiable impact on company revenue and growth through solutions operations, design or sale. 

Proven execution-oriented people leader with exceptional ability to hire and inspire teams creating a high-performance culture in dynamic environment. 

Proven capability to adeptly manage and execute highly complex and competing priorities whilst leading a team to ensure optimal organizational outcomes and efficient resource allocation. 

May consider a combination of relevant experience with educational and other skills and abilities in lieu of educational requirements

Experience with Microsoft Office suite of products 

Exceptional communication skills, including public speaking, presentations, and written communication for technical and business audiences. 

Proven expertise in solution selling and strategic debates with stakeholders at all levels. 

Strong leadership and people development skills, with a focus on accountability and results.

Demonstrated ability to scale business outcomes and implement strategic plans. 

Advanced problem-solving and collaboration skills within diverse, matrixed environments. 

Proven success in proposal development and aligning SOWs and pricing. 

Self-motivated with strong organizational and analytical abilities. 

Highly credible with internal teams, vendors, and clients. 

 

Physical Abilities:

  • Extended Periods of Sitting: Ability to remain seated for long periods, with regular breaks as needed. 

  • Visual Acuity: Ability to view computer screens and read documents for extended periods. 

  • Frequent Use of Hands: Ability to use hands for typing, handling documents, and operating office equipment. 

  • Communication: Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, through various mediums including phone, email, and video conferencing. 

  • Mobility: Ability to move within an office environment to access files, office machinery, and attend meetings. 

  • Reaching and Handling: Ability to reach, handle, and manipulate objects and equipment within an office or remote workspace. 

  • Occasional Lifting: Ability to lift and move items, such as files or office supplies, typically up to 10 pounds. 

  • Flexibility: Ability to perform tasks that may require bending, twisting, or standing briefly to access materials or equipment.

Work Environment:

  • Work schedules are determined by business need and manager discretion; full time employment is considered 40 hours per week

  • Proper Lighting 

  • Heating, air conditioning and ventilation to create a comfortable environment

  • Incumbent may be exposed to frequent noise caused by telephones, office machines, and nearby oral communications among fellow employees 

  • As a global organization, attending meetings and events during early mornings and evenings may be required 

  • Performing duties and attending events during the evening and on the weekend occurs occasionally and may be required 

  • Traveling off-site to employee and client locations, events and vendor meetings is required as needed 

  • Business travel may be required up to 15-30% of the time

The target pay range for this role is $128,000-$182,850

 

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data. This position is eligible for our comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Additional ENGIE benefits include a 401k plan, paid time off and annual bonus. ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws.
