What You Can Expect
ENGIE is looking for motivated Data Management, Intern working towards a career in renewable energy, GIS, or environmental science who can assist with the development of utility-scale renewable energy and battery storage projects. Every day, you will report to the Business Development Advisor to assist in maintaining key datasets, conduct research, and create new spatial data layers to facilitate project development. The Data Management Intern can expect to gain exposure to the renewable development process and will hone mapping and data management skills
What You’ll Do
- Research competitor projects and input this data into our spatial platform
- Review potential locations for grid-scale wind, solar, and battery storage projects
- Present opportunities to the greenfield development team
- Add and update spatial data layers to improve site identification and evaluation, using ArcGIS Pro
- Manipulate parcel data and map structures based on aerial imagery
- Attend meetings, collaborate, and coordinate with cross functional teams and stakeholders
What You’ll Bring
- Must be at least a junior or senior working toward a graduate or undergraduate degree in environmental science, computer science, or data science, or in a closely related field in which you have college level course experience of ArcGIS Pro, ESRI products, and proficiency with EXCEL
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to think analytically, present ideas professionally, and work in project teams
- Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy
Additional Details
- The internship term will run from January 2026 to August 2026. Please note that this role follows ENGIE’s hybrid in-office work policy in the Santa Barbara, CA office requiring regular on-site presence—it is not eligible for remote work
- Interns must be enrolled in good standing at the commencement of the intern semester
- Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
Compensation
Hourly Range: $23.50 - $33.50 USD hourly
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
