Your Mission

Long Term BESS Portfolio Officer candidate will be part of Assets Optimization and Trading (AOT, one of the local Business Entities of Global Energy management Italy  –S&EM Italy– ). His/her role will be contributing to create value around S&EM Italian BESS assets.

Based on its perimeter defined by Long Term Flexible Portfolio Manager the candidate will:

  • Manage and develop pricing tool for Engie/third parties assets BESS offers
  • Develop and support BESS portfolio budget process
  • Support structurer during the negotiation and contracting phase
  • Estimate risks associated with BESS assets management
  • Manage power flexible assets portfolio, maximizing results and minimizing risk, through all flexibility offered by the markets (Hedging strategies)
  • Assess market strategies of competitors through the development of new analysis tools
  • Actively support S&EM Italy platform business development;
  • Propose improvement of models, processes & IT tools and follow up implementation
  • In case of need, support the thermal (CCGTs) portfolio management.

 

BESS officer will directly report to the Long Term Flexible Portfolio Manager. The position is based in Rome. The ideal profile matches with the following prerequisites:

 

 

What profile we are looking for

  • Master's degree in engineering, Business, Management or a similar field.
  • Young graduate or maximum 3 years of experience as a Junior.
  • Strong interest in energy markets, IT, management risk and financial market.
  • Eager to learn new skills, culture & ready to be trained.
  • You are fluent in English and additional languages are a plus;
  • Fluent English. Italian is a plus. Willingness to learn it asap. 
  • Proactive, reliable and results oriented.
  • Collaboration & sense of priorities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Long-term interest in building a career in a strategic, international environment.
  • Excellent attitude in quantitative analysis and probabilistic model;
  • Knowledge of global energy markets and trading environment is a plus;
  • Proficient knowledge of Python and Excel (possibly VBA).
