Who are we looking for?
We are currently searching for Junior Gas Operator & Logistic in S&EM Italy, based in Rome.
The applicant will join the G.O.O.L. Team (Gas Operation, Optimization and Logistics), part of Trading and Asset Management (T&AM, one of the Business Unit of Supply & Energy Management).
The team is responsible for gas operational activities (nominations on pipelines, HUBs, markets, TSO/SSO contract management) as well as managing and optimizing the gas portfolio.
This position requires availability to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays, The position is meant to train the candidate into Engie way of working and it may lead to different role in due time.

What will you do?
Scheduling
- Perform nominations on the Italian virtual hub (PSV), on national and foreign networks, on the national storage system, and on supply contracts.
- Book and allocate capacities to ensure the supply of all our clients (B2B, B2C, Giants, Resellers, CCGTs).
- Maintain operational contacts with institutional players (TSOs, SSOs, LSOs) and counterparties.
- Monitor gas portfolio imbalances.
Contracts Management and Portfolio Support
- Ensure daily access and participation in gas spot exchange markets for different group entities (ENGIE Italy, ENGIE SA, ENGIE Global Markets).
- Support the management of transport and storage contracts (auctions and secondary capacity markets, storage auctions).
- Handle settlement management for final clients and manage logistics costs across the chain.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal activities, particularly by supporting the digitalization of processes in coordination with internal and external stakeholders (exchanges, TSOs, etc.).
- Support the team in setting up and managing complex deals, both in structuring/closing phases and throughout their lifecycle.
Market Activity
- Operate on the Italian gas market to optimize the company assets during weekend/holydays/off hours, according to strategies shared with trading team
ABOUT YOU
- Fluent in English and Italian, both spoken and written, with a strong willingness to learn.
- Strong Digital and Excel skills; knowledge of VBA or other programming languages is a plus.
- University degree in Economics or Engineering; strong numerical skills are essential.
- Flexible, problem-solving mindset with a result-oriented approach.
- Willingness to work shifts (including Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays) is mandatory.
- Ability to multitask, meet tight deadlines, and handle unplanned operational emergencies.
- Eagerness to learn, through both study and hands-on experience; humble and open-minded.
- Strong team player; curious, proactive, and capable of working autonomously.
Type of contract:
