SUSTAINABILITY WASTE ADVISOR
The Role:
This role will be primarily responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and performing compliance-based waste audits in a highly client-facing, travel-intensive role. This individual will also assist the Sustainability Waste Advisory Team on various projects related to waste audits, compliance and zero waste consulting, reporting and data analysis, and other tasks on an as-needed basis
Role Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with the client, onsite contacts and team members to ensure preparedness for audits.
- Coordinate with the audit team to prepare for audits, including building audit and travel schedules, managing supplies and inventory and training waste audit volunteers.
- Perform an average of 3 audits per day on a given audit week.
- Share and justify audit decisions in a regulatory context with site and regional senior leadership.
- Conduct on-site projects and compliance improvement programs, which include training, bin optimization and planning, and department-wide waste audits.
- Prepare and deliver presentations and reporting for client facing meetings.
- Manage multiple tasks on several projects including, creating and implementing project timelines, responding to client requests, printing and/or creating training materials, data entry and analysis, scheduling meetings and developing training sessions.
- Assist clients with and coordinate details for various special projects that are deadline driven.
- Ability to understand and speak to regulated waste including Medical and Pharmaceutical Waste and Protected Health Information.
- Manage and analyze multiple large datasets using MS Office Suite to find trends, identify operational opportunities, and produce reporting deliverables.
- Solve escalated client and team issues and concerns in a professional and timely manner to ensure customer retention and satisfaction.
- Promote Engie’s brand and services through excellent customer service during normal client interactions.
- Generate reports, prepare and monitor invoices and expense reports.
- Contact vendors via email and phone to obtain client-relevant information, including cost, contract and contact information and details regarding waste services.
Education and Experience:

- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor's Degree preferred in one of the following fields; sustainability, operations management, business administration concentration
Skills and Abilities:

- 1-3+ years relevant experience of direct waste industry experience preferred with the ability to demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of the waste industry
- TRUE Certification a plus
- Valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record required
- May consider a combination of relevant experience with educational and other skills and abilities in lieu of educational requirements

Work Environment:
- Work schedules are determined by business need and manager discretion; full time employment is considered 40 hours per week

- Will be exposed to strong smells and various types of waste
- Performing duties and attending events during the evening and on the weekend occurs occasionally and may be required
- Traveling off-site to employee and client locations globally, events and vendor meetings is required
- Occasional international business trips may be necessary, and a valid passport is essential
Business travel required 50-75% of the time

- Extended Periods of Sitting: Ability to remain seated for long periods, with regular breaks as needed.

- Frequent Use of Hands: Ability to use hands for typing, handling documents, and operating office equipment.
- Communication: Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, through various mediums including phone, email, and video conferencing.
- Mobility: Ability to move within an office environment to access files, office machinery, and attend meetings.
- Reaching and Handling: Ability to reach, handle, and manipulate objects and equipment within an office or remote workspace.
Occasional Lifting: Ability to lift and move items, such as files or office supplies, typically up to 30 pounds

At ENGIE Impact, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining pay. Actual pay will vary depending on factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, qualifications, location, and internal equity. All offers will be in compliance with all local, state, and federal minimum wage requirements.
The target pay range for this position is: $56,000-$83,000
In addition to base pay, employees are eligible for our comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Additional ENGIE benefits include a 401k plan, paid time off, paid holidays, and annual bonus.
