What You Can Expect

The Construction Project Field Manager (PFM) is responsible for providing quality assurance and safety oversight of the activities and installation of the construction of utility scale projects by the EPC/BOP contractor, Its subcontractor, and supplier. The PFM will comply with ENGIE Delivery Standard Operating Procedures throughout the progress of construction activities for the ENGIE site team. The PFM will be accountable to the Project Manager for assigned grid scale project(s).

 

  • Every day the PFM will represent ENGIE as overall monitoring project site manager reporting to the Project Manager for project related issues, concerns, and achievements
  • Direct, observe, report, and coordinate activities of assigned Field Observers on required safety check points
  • Train and mentor teams members on key activities including but not limited to contractor monitoring, inspections, observations, reporting, and safety management
  • Provide input to Project Manager(s) and Construction Management Advisor on selection and evaluation of ENGIE site team members
  • Work collaboratively with owner’s project manager to oversee and coordinate contractor scopes of work
  • Perform daily site walks/drives for overall progress, safety, and quality verification. Perform joint safety and quality inspections with the EPC and supplier counterparts
  • Attend preconstruction meetings with all involved construction entities as required
  • Coordinate and attend weekly progress meetings to be held by EPC contractors, engineers, and internal stake holders to include but not limited to safety and quality roundtable discussions with other project sites
  • Attend monthly progress meetings to be held by EPC contractor as well as owner’s internal stakeholders
  • Perform constructability reviews of projects in early design phase
  • Input and review during the design process through IFC
  • Review designs, construction sequence plans, and proposed schedule for each phase of construction
  • Complete daily, weekly, monthly progress reports and submit to stake holders
  • Ensure construction work complies with all applicable plans, specifications, building codes and other legal or regulatory requirements
  • Collect, verify, and report on completeness of required safety process documentation from each contractor on site, review any unsatisfactory results and provide reporting for entire project through designated channels
  • Manage relationships with owner’s clients and stakeholders
  • Represent ENGIE as facilitator for resolution of project conflicts such as construction problems, scheduling delays, logistical conflicts, and construction methods
  • Work directly with project managers, EPC contractor, other contractors, module and MPT suppliers, engineers, vendors, and others as required
  • Complete daily logs, construction reports, safety inspections, and various construction inspections
  • Complete a review of all job books submitted to validate all deliverable items are included, including all pertinent testing results
  • Utilize Procore for all project related documents and enter lessons learned module to capture and record lessons learned during the construction phase

  • Coordinate final inspections, testing, commissioning, and walk-downs and establish final punch list
  • Proactively identify areas of potential risk and identify design or construction elements likely to result in disputes or claims
  • Observe delivery of major equipment and provide general physical inspection including shock sensors, dents, scratches, and/or any other obvious physical damage
  • Monitor proper storage and security of materials and Equipment Prepare regular progress reports in accordance with project execution procedures (PEP) outline
  • Provide real-time updates on key construction activities such as site clearing/grading and other civil works, access roads, solar array construction, AC and DC collection systems, transmission lines and substation via GIS-based system provided by owner

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field

  • Minimum of seven (7) years’ total experience with a minimum of five (5) years of Site Management experience constructing renewable projects
  • Experience with managing projects larger than 100MW
  • OSHA 30 hour certification
  • Strong background with renewable construction projects
  • Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills
  • Proficient with MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, and with PROCORE
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Construction Processes and Sequencing
  • Hands on Experience with Tools and Equipment
  • Leadership and Problem-Solving skills
  • Takes a collaborative approach to getting the work done

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role requires attendance at a worksite on a daily/weekly/rotational basis
  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 100% of the time
  • U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record, for the use of fleet cars, personal and or hire cars when traveling, to drive to site locations and meetings
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies;
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions
  • Must be physically able to conduct site visits and walk renewable energy sites for extended periods of time in hot or cold weather conditions to complete job assignments

 

 

Compensation

Salary Range: $84,000 – $128,800 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
