CLIENT DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE

The Role:
The Client Development Associate is a key member of the outbound sales function focused on generating new enterprise pipeline and closing standardized transactional deals. This role combines targeted outbound prospecting to large enterprises (typically 250+ locations and $5B+ revenue and higher) with full-cycle ownership of lower-complexity sales motions, including discovery, demo delivery, and execution of non-negotiable, fixed-price contracts. This individual will engage finance and sustainability leaders, refine messaging based on buyer needs, and collaborate closely with Sales Directors to support pipeline acceleration across strategic accounts.
Role Responsibilities:
- ‘Cold’ prospect outreach to secure discovery meetings with Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) fit (250+ locations and $5B+ revenue and higher, typical personas being in Finance and Sustainability)– leveraging email, phone, linkedin, other.
- Maintain an active outbound plan of outreach; general guidance being target personas/contacts receive outreach at regular weekly cadence until disqualified or discovery meeting secured
- Collaborate with sales leadership and team members in identifying target accounts to pursue, key messaging, and alignment on outreach mediums and cadence.
- Leverage Account Based Targeting and customer-centric strategies to improve sales velocity; this requires pro-active research on company and/or contacts to integrate messaging that starts with customer issues and drivers first.
- Utilize AI resources, such as CoPilot, to accelerate outbound messaging creation, ensure diversification of content in outreach, and to maintain customer-centric messaging.
- Ability to lead from discovery-to-contract signature ‘transactional’ sales opportunities, typically up to $50K Annual Recurring Revenue. These contracts are structured as non-negotiable Terms and Conditions, flexibility on pricing to close, and designed for shorter sales cycle closing (<6 months).
- Champion the key sales steps in these ‘transactional’ sales, incorporating business solution directors or other subject matter experts for demos or presentations to secure solution fit with prospect needs.
- Partner closely with Sales Directors to hand off larger/strategic opportunities that exceed the scope of transactional closing (for example: >$50K ARR, >$25M in spend).
- Support events and conferences by attending and/or supporting outbound activities to secure meetings
- Work closely with Marketing, Sales, Delivery and Product to align strategic campaigns and messaging resources to deploy within client development outreach.
- For any Marketing-generated leads and campaign outreach, ensure timely follow-up and update SalesForce
- Design and execute on account plans for successful prospecting into company identified enterprise accounts
- Proactively and regularly solicit ongoing feedback regarding meeting quality and opportunity creation potential
- Work closely with Operations to define targeting parameters and ZoomInfo ‘intent’ signals to build within targeting strategy
- Utilize ZoomInfo, LinkedIn, or other available contact database resource, to personalize outbound messages to target personas and contactsEnsure client development sales data is frequently (daily desired, no less than weekly) accurately entered and managed within the company’s CRM and other sales management systems.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree – knowledge of finance (accounts payable) and/or energy related solutions desired.
- 5 plus years of experience as a sales professional – specifically with significant ‘self-generated’ lead generation experience
- 5 plus years of experience in B2B environment
- SaaS business experience recommended, but not required
Skills and Abilities:
- Successful track record identifying target companies and contacts for outbound lead generation
- Strong history of successfully engaging ‘cold’ contacts and building ‘net-new’ pipeline of opportunities
- Demonstrates successful track record of maintaining sales goals.
- Has excellent verbal, written and presentation skills with a keen ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
- Demonstrates ability to motivate others.
- Has the ability to self-start, manage multiple projects, and collaborate with a variety of colleagues, matrix relationships, internal clients, senior management, etc.
- Proficient in CRM (Salesforce) and contact management tools, such as ZoomInfo and Linkedin

Work Environment:
- Typical office hours 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Performing duties and attending events during the evening and on the weekend occurs occasionally and may be required
Traveling will be required. Anticipated 15% of time.
Required Physical Abilities:
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, move from one area of the building to another on a regular basis, sit and use a computer for a long period of time
Manual and physical dexterity needed to operate a computer keyboard as required

In accordance with Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At ENGIE Impact, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining pay. Actual pay will vary depending on factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, qualifications, location, and internal equity. All offers will be in compliance with all local, state, and federal minimum wage requirements.
The target pay range for this position is $71,000-$120,000
