The Supply & Energy Management (S&EM) Global Business Unit covers trading and risk management activities as well as B2B and B2C supply activities across a large and highly diversified energy portfolio, including electricity, natural gas, biomass, LNG and other fuels, CO2 and environmental products
Within the S&EM Business Unit, Business Platform APAC is developing ENGIE’s trading and risk management activities across a large APAC region which includes India, around 4 main pillars: risk management and market access, asset management, green solutions and energy supply businesses.
The missions of S&EM INDIA are :
- Support the development and the operations of the other Global Business Units (GBUs) in all aspects related to risk representation and asset management
- Develop a profitable third party energy management commercial franchise which contributes to the overall risk management of ENGIE’s portfolio in India
What You'll Do
- Mark forward curves in ETRM to support accurate pricing and mark-to-market reporting across the portfolio.
- Design and execute portfolio hedging strategies alongside the Portfolio Manager, optimising P&L within the approved risk framework.
- Price and structure client deals, providing risk-managed analysis that feeds term sheets and proposals for the origination team.
- Execute trades bilaterally and on exchanges, providing market access to internal and external customers.
- Monitor and analyse market trends, regulatory developments, and their impact on pricing to inform trading decisions.
- Identify and develop new trading opportunities that support the growth of commercial and origination activities.
- Mentor team members, coordinate with internal stakeholders, and ensure operational continuity across the trading desk.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Management, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in Indian power trading, including exchange trading and renewables (PPAs, BESS).
- Strong understanding of CERC/SERC regulations and exchange products (DAM, RTM, GDAM, HP-DAM, TAM, GTAM, REC, Escerts).
- Excellent quantitative, analytical, and market-monitoring skills with proven risk management expertise.
- Proficiency with trading platforms and advanced MS Excel; digital capability to build or support automation tools is preferred.
- Strong stakeholder management abilities and experience mentoring junior professionals.
- Ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
