The Supply & Energy Management (S&EM) business unit is the fully integrated trading arm of the ENGIE Group. S&EM teams manage a large and highly diversified energy portfolio, including electricity, natural gas, biomass, LNG and other fuels, CO2 and environmental products, and provide a range of trading risk management solutions to all types of market participants in Europe, Asia Pacific and in the Americas. S&EM manages the B2B supply business within ENGIE, including supply contracts and Power Purchase Agreements.

 

Within the Business Unit, BP APAC is responsible for S&EM activities in Asia Pacific & Middle East, the platform manages and develops the group’s trading activities for these regions around 4 main pillars: risk management and market access, asset management, green solutions and energy supply businesses. BP APAC as part of this expansion strategy for developing Asset Management business  is looking to set up platform in India to support RGBU / group development and develop related commercial franchise.

 

The missions of INDIA set up are :

  • Support the development and the operations of the other GBUs in all aspects related to risk representation and asset management
  • Develop Merchant access and commercial franchise which contributes to the overall risk management of the portfolio and generates value

 

 

 

 

 

Purpose

The purpose of the role is to implement and manage commercial activity of our India platform (as part of BP APAC)

The incumbent ensures coordination within Engie India activities, develops & manage commercial activity of GEMS India primarily on power.

 

 

 

Responsibilities | You may be requested to perform duties outside of the listed scope of responsibilities from time to time, as required

Key missions / Responsibilities / In this role you’ll be responsible for

  • Develop strategies & Plan:
    • Conduct research to identify new client opportunities and track market trends, regulatory changes, and emerging needs
    • Provide market insight in formulating strategies for market penetration and enhanced client access
    • Support senior Originator in developing data driven strategies for expanding business

 

  • Sales & PnL:
    • Collaborate with senior BD Originator to acquire new clients and grow the number of deals.
    • Contribute to achieving incremental business targets through new client addition and revenue streams
  • Client centricity:
    • Increasing the client & partners base, managing and retaining relationships with existing clients
    • Comprehensive knowledge of prevailing products of Indian Power Market, State regulations impacting marketability from time to time
    • Ability to provide holistic guidance  to clients for optimization of their overall power portfolio (Procurement or Sale)
    • Full use of our CRM tool (GEMFORCE), to better manage & report GEMS opportunities & activities
  • in-depth knowledge of business products and value proposition:
    • In-depth understanding in various drivers of India power market (Exchange, Bilateral Contracts, GNA, RECs, etc)
    • Stay informed about global energy markets (oil, gas, macro, carbon, regulations etc.) that may have direct or indirect impact on Indian power market
    • Supporting senior Originator with necessary market statistics for development of new products and services from time to time
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with senior originator based in India to provide local insight in assisting and expanding India power trading scope
    • Provide necessary market insights from time to time for development of new and innovative deals cum revenue stream for the company
    • Liaise with various internal teams such as KYC, Legal, Tax, IT, Middle Office and Back Office on various trade life cycle matters

EDUCATION / SENIORITY

7-10 years' experience in power trading and commercial activities
