What You Can Expect
As a Project Manager I at ENGIE, you’ll be at the heart of our strategic operations at the University of Iowa, gaining hands-on experience in critical utility sectors like Power Generation, Water Treatment, Chilled Water, and Distribution. This isn’t just a support role—you’ll be driving projects forward, owning key deliverables, and building the foundation for a long-term career in energy and infrastructure.
What You’ll Do—In this Role:
- Take ownership of project planning and execution, actively shaping outcomes and driving progress across technical systems and infrastructure
- Monitor and analyze project budgets and schedules, proactively identifying risks and implementing solutions
- Provide clear, data-driven updates to clients and stakeholders, highlighting your ability to manage timelines and financials
- Coordinate permitting, construction planning, contractor oversight, and procurement—developing your leadership and decision-making skills
- Ensure all work aligns with ENGIE’s high standards for safety, ethics, and sustainability
What You’ll Bring
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field. In lieu of a four-year degree, a high school diploma or GED with four (4) years of relevant experience will be considered
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
- A systems approach to problem solving and the ability to define emergent problems quantitatively
- Familiarity in understanding how scope, schedule, and budget interact throughout a project’s lifecycle
- A drive to contribute meaningfully to long-term infrastructure improvements—paired with curiosity, adaptability, and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes in a dynamic campus environment
Additional Details
- Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
- Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record; for ability to drive to site locations
Compensation
Hourly Range: $36.00 – $55.18 USD hourly.
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
