The Project Manager is the primary manager of all phases of an energy project, with the objective of successful completion on time, and within budget, while maintaining quality, safety, and cash management standards, and producing strong customer references. Assigned projects will include a combination of energy efficiency measures, renewable generation installations, and various carbon reduction strategies, to help public sector, commercial and industrial customers around the United States become more sustainable, save money, and improve processes in their plants and services to their end-users. In this role, you will manage one to several projects simultaneously from early development through post-construction, including design, contract negotiations, and project implementation.

 

This position can sit in Oakland, CA or San Jose, CA and will report to the Director of Project Management.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Assign responsibilities to project team; establish schedules for individual team members
  • Serve as customer’s primary contact during the implementation phase
  • Manage all technical aspects of the project including scope development, savings analysis, and constructability of the measures
  • Assist Sales team in customer presentations and interviews during the development phase
  • Work with Legal to prepare and negotiate customer agreements and change orders
  • Ensure that the internal risk review package is complete and accurate, secures risk review approval for all project commitments
  • Manage all cost components of the project during implementation, and maintain precise and updated actual costs versus budget throughout the project
  • Responsible for immediately notifying the supervisor upon determining that a project budget or staffing plan needs adjustment
  • Work with the construction manager establishes a project schedule with adequate milestones for regular progress measurement
  • Ensure that the customer has signed off on the submittals
  • Manage the job to completion within the schedule
  • Issues regular job progress reports.
  • Work with Accounting to invoice the customer monthly on each project
  • Review the internal aging report to ensure customer payment to ENA
  • Proactively approaches customers regarding any payment delays or issues
  • Complete budget analysis and forecasting on monthly basis for each project
  • Ensure all projects are set up in Procore
  • Comply with all local labor regulations and ensure they are achieved
  • Ensure that the monitoring set-up package (if applicable) and final job close-out information are completed on time

 

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management, preferred
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of related work experience, including training 
  • State Professional Engineering license preferred / OSHA 10 preferred
  • Proficient in financial analysis skills to predict customer project economics and manage project budgets
  • Strong negotiation skills that protect ENGIE’s interests on a given project, while building customer and vendor/subcontractor rapport
  • Ability to prepare and write accurate customer reports and RFX responses, with attention to customer goals and needs
  • Capability to create and execute project development and delivery schedules
  • Excellent adherence to schedule, and collaborative problem-solving skills to maintain budget, schedule, and customer satisfaction
  • High standards of accuracy, appearance, and thoroughness of project documentation
  • Ability to review engineering work across all typical energy project scope types
  • Knowledge of contract scopes of work, and alignment with subcontractor scopes of work
  • Ability to review and improve energy analysis performed by others for all project sizes
  • Understands Project Engineer job responsibilities in project development
  • Knowledge of durations and requirements of energy measure development and delivery
  • Prepare and understand proformas
  • Superior understanding of general construction methods and can work with the construction manager to implement the project

  • Must be available to travel up-to 25% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips
  • Must be willing and able to comply with ENGIE’s policy with respect to COVID vaccination and testing

  • Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy

  • Salary Range: $135,875-$236,600 USD, annually 
  • Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors 
  • In addition to salary, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan
