At ENGIE, we believe the energy transition starts with people who are ready to make a real difference. Our anaerobic digestion plants turn organic waste into renewable energy, and we need skilled operators to keep them running at their best.

As a Plant Operator, you will play a hands-on role in delivering clean energy safely and efficiently. You will work closely with the Plant Manager and maintenance team to ensure continuous, optimal plant performance. This is a role where your technical skills directly contribute to a more sustainable future.

Summary of what you will do

  • Support the daily operation of the anaerobic digestion plant, including feeding, monitoring, and routine checks.

  • Perform fault finding, troubleshooting, and minor maintenance on pumps, motors, and other equipment.
  • Monitor IT control systems on-site and remotely, responding to alerts as part of a rota-based on-call system.
  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations, ENGIE One Safety policies, and permit-to-work procedures.
  • Carry out daily, weekly, and monthly plant checks, recording data accurately in line with company protocols.
  • Maintain excellent site housekeeping, including stores management and general upkeep of landscaped areas.

What you will bring to the role

  • Previous experience in an engineering, industrial, farming, or renewable energy environment.
  • Proven fault-finding and problem-solving skills in a technical or mechanical setting.
  • Full UK driving licence and a valid telehandler licence.
  • Strong IT skills and confidence using control and monitoring systems.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with colleagues, contractors, and external stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good analytical skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
  • Desirable qualifications include confined space training, PASMA, IPAF, abrasive wheels, and DSEAR awareness. Training will be provided for First Aid, Fire Warden, IOSH Managing Safely, and electrical safety awareness.

Location

This is an on-site role based at our Gorst Site (EX5 1AF) with rota-based on-call responsibilities, including occasional lone working.

What We Offer

  • A competitive salary with clear career progression within ENGIE's growing renewable energy operations.
